Through the dreamy haze the blood gave her, Anastasia was vaguely aware that another strange scent had entered the area. It was not human but something else, something like her owner’s. Anastasia would have put her guard up but she was too busy trying to control herself enough not to bite him. Even in this situation, out of the corner of her eye she couldn’t help but notice another woman enter the scene.
Shortly after noting the woman she heard a female voice comment on how charming the act that Anastasia and her owner were performing. Because Anastasia was so focused on what she was doing it took her a moment to gather that the voice was coming from the angel woman. The angel woman then continued, saying that she had seen “pets” that were better behaved. A flash of displeasure crossed Anastasia’s features for a brief moment before her negative emotions disappeared back into her blood induced haze.
Not long after this Anastasia’s owner pushed her away. Anastasia was pleased with the fact that she had controlled her urges while at the same time she wished she hadn’t. There was something about her owner’s blood that sent her senses into overdrive and every part of her body wanted him no his blood. Anastasia’s train of thought was interrupted as a warming grip encircled her neck. Her owner was confronting the handsome vampire about a prank “so that’s how the blood got there.” Anastasia realized as she recalled the moment vaguely. As her owner spoke he ran his finger across Anastasia’s face. For one moment Anastasia’s eyes hardened with anger and displeasure, but they quickly turned into their blank, submissive gaze.
In her peripheral vision Anastasia saw the glint of metal. Her owner had taken out a knife and her eyes darted to it. Her body felt the rush of endorphins as she waited in anticipation for her owner to draw his blood for her, but after a moment she figured out that the knife was going to lay limp so close to their skin. Anastasia’s hand trembled slightly. She longed to seize that blade from her owner.
Just when Anastasia felt that she couldn’t take it anymore and that she had to hold that knife, her owner dropped it. She caught it instantly, but she knew she couldn’t get the blood. Even so, the brutal, coldness of killing metal felt good on her skin. A moment later the warmth of body heat left Anastasia and she thought clearly once again. She assumed a protective stance in front of her owner that did not look menacing Her face was blank and emotionless, but she was not looking for a fight.
The female vampire corrected her owner, telling him that he would not help him and caused Anastasia to make note of her position. “That’s right hold fast to your dreams.” Anastasia thought encouragingly toward her, but her face remained void. Just a moment later the male vampire’s voice came to Anastasia’s ears. He used a condescending tone toward her owner that caught Anastasia’s attention. The vampire gave his own speech back to her owner as Anastasia watched him with concealed amusement. Her amusement turned to amazement as the vampire brazenly continued speaking. The last line of his speech was so bold that Anastasia actually cracked a smile. She concealed the emotion as quickly as she could. If it had been about Master than Anastasia would have shot him instantly, but her owner was not Master.
