Jerome lay nesteld in the comforting darkness of a roof. He welcomed the dark hands of shadow. They hid him, made him feel secure, safe. His eyes darted back and forth, searching for movement. The smell that had alerted him to vampires put him in caution mode. Another scent also taunted his nostrils, however he wasn't sure what it was. He had never smelled it before.
With a sigh, he touched Andrea's medallion around his neck. The nightmares still ate away at his sleep, constantly replaying the moment he failed to protect her. The moment his whole life was shattered. Shattered by his brother, the red haired bastard. A low growl began to build in his throat because of the thoughts. The rage he started to feel was causing his transformation to peek its furry head. Jerome fought it back. He didn't need it right now.
The scents grew stronger and Jerome became more alert. They were definately vampires. He scanned furiously, looking for the source. He stood stone still watching, like a sentinal. Finally, reward graced him. Two fast moving figures traversed the streets below him. He focued his eyes on the one in the lead. The vampire appeared to be carrying a human. Jerome stared harder until he was hit with shock that almost sent him against the ground. The one in the lead, the red hair. It was him!
Jerome quickly unslung his bow and followed the group. His stalking persona showed itself as he slinked behind them. His practiced stealth keeping him unnoticed. He was one with the buildings, the rooftops, the shadows. He wouldn't be seen, until the moment his arrow struck home.
Finally they stopped, and were immidietaly approached by mere humans. This didn't matter to him. His target was clear. Jerome knocked an arrow and slowed his breathing. The anger of years of hatred was building up, but he fought it down. This was his chance to slay his brother. He pulled the string back and aimed carefully. The rage was fighting to get out, and tear apart his brother. Jerome stopped his breathing and released. The surprise he had worked so hard to preserve was shattered however. A roar escaped his lips and pierced the night, as his arrow released, streaking towards his target. Without hesitation he knocked another arrow back, ready to fire at any attackers.
