As Stramn returned, the thoughts in his mind finally came into order. Now he remembered all of the events of the day. This Stramn, he was a man that he would never be able to figure out, he knew that. His morals seemed so different, and yet he still talked of killing him, so what had stopped him earlier? He was unconscious and Makai had been hugging a rock in the river.
He listened as Makai came over and smiled. They really needed to start meeting under better circumstances. Once again he was weak and naked, why did that always seem to happen? He heard Stramn come back and was about to talk, when Stramn spoke first. His words shocked him into silence. His mind was racing, who was the real monster here? His monster was buried within him, this monster seemed to be awake all the time within this werewolf.
He considered this supposed month to 'tame' him. Well what would Stramn do to tame the monster within himself? He doubted he believed it was a monster and there at lied the heart of the problem. The monster was his to control, unless it is poked. That is the only time it got away from him, and Stramn had done plenty of that.
He slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position. His tail was still bleeding slightly where the wolf had but it, but it did not stop it from draping itself across his waist protecting his modesty. "I was turned into a monster." He said, even though there was really nothing that seemed to provoke these words. "But I still have my humanity. So tell me Stramn if you are not human, like you said, or a monster, since you seem convinced otherwise, what are you truly? Makai does not have her humanity tainted by beasts like yours or mine, she feels the true pain of our fighting. It is not entirely physical pain, in fact that's the lesser of the pains. A blow to the heart is the hardest to heal. So Stramnar, is your heart dead and you wish to have the same thing happen to Makai?" His little speech shocked himself. His mind was working as if he had prepared that speech for days, but now was not the time for a physical battle. His humanity could beat him in a contest of words, he did not want to disgrace himself or Stramn, but Makai was still young and he would stand by her. His human side would not allow a monster to destroy her humanity, like it tried to pry his away.
