Heart racing, Makai clambered over a fallen supply cart. She was being tailed by a group of rouge vampires. They had followed her for hours as she wandered. When Makai came upon the old hospital, she charged in, hoping they'd follow her.
One young looking vampire with long blonde hair stepped out of the shadows, his pale face illuminated eirily by the moonlight.
"C'mon dearest, come and play with us." He gave a toothy grin.
"P-please!," Makai wailed,"Don't hurt me!" Makai crouched. Blondy was right on top of her as she stuck her gun in his mouth.
"Let's play," her grin was far scarier.
The vampire's head was splattered all over the halls. The others charged, underestimating the bloodthirsty girl. She was on a mission, but that didn't stop her from having a little fun.
Ten minutes had gone by and Makai was still lost. She spied an old bathroom and washed the blood off her hands. She considered herself very fortunate not to have gotten any on her uniform.
"Hee hee, lucky little me." Makai winked at the mirror and stuck out her tongue. This made her giggle more and soon she began to pull faces, each one more ridiculous than the last.
"Nyaaah! Bluf! Woooweejo!" Makai was a little kid, so she still got to enjoy some of life's simpler pleasures. Her joy was short-lived as she remembered why she had come her.
Makai wiped a bit of spit fromt he side of her mouth and slunk out of the bathroom. She stopped and pulled one more face at the mirror.
The halls echoed Makai's footsteps as she neared her destination: The chemical lab. There she would find the drug.
She knocked down countless shelves, spattering glass and multi-colored liquids everywhere in her attempt to get to the back of the room. At the end lay a glass case holding a hyperdermic needle containg green liquid. Makai shuddered, but she the shot it open. The needle flew through the air only to thunk inches from her face into the wall.
"Yeek!" Makai sagged to her kinees, terrified. When she had regained her composure, Makai got up and yanked out the needle.
"There you are. Now come on, we have work to do." Makai removed the safety cap and sighed, placing the tip on the side of her neck. Her hand quivered and shook, her fear surfacing from her very soul. Makai wanted to ebcome a superhuman so that she could get stronger. Makai hated herself for this, but if her friends like Kurei, Akita, Evanglynn, or Motoki ever got hurt, she wouldn't be able to save them. Whatever could hurt a creature of the night could surely stop a little girl.
"Relax Makai," she told herself,"it's not like I'm killing myself. Just tking my medecine." Makai didn't know how wrong she was. Even if she kept her sanity after taking the drug, her carnage craving side would be more of a monster than it already was. She was taking a huge risk, but Makai knew that if she wanted to get stronger, it had to be done.
The needle shook so violently that it fell from her hand onto the cold tiles. It didn't shatter, but Makai's scream could've broken all the glass windows. She sagged to the groun and sighed.
"Why am I so scared? Maybe I should talk to soembody first." She nodded her head.
"Yeah, I'll just take this with me and use it when I need to!" Makai stuffed the needle in her cannon bag and started skipping down the halls. When she reached the bloody one, she began to doodle smiley faces in the blood.
"Yay. It's a good night."
