Jerome sighed deeply. Boredom had settled on him like a weight. The couch he was laying on was comfortable, but he'd been here for a hour at least. Reaching up he rubbed his eyes and yawned. Jeromed took a glance around. This apartment, like most in this damn city, was a dump. Honestly, who cared about the upkeep of these buildings. Surviving was the main agenda in a city like this.
However, the contact he was meeting here, had claimed this entire building as his own. Not to mention he had his own little security force to back it up. Although they knew him, even liked him, even him being a Lycan. He came through here to many times for them to be uncomfortable anymore. Over the years, his contact and his security, grew into the only humans he really trusted. He could count on them to hold his secrets.
Jerome looked around this apartment again. He was starting to get impatient. His contact was a close friend, but his punctuality was something to be desired. Shutting his eyes, he allowed a low growl to sound. *CLICK* The slight sound of a door unlocking alerted him and he jumped up to his feet. Like clockwork the door creaked open and a voice he knew all to well boomed through the room. "ROMEY, MY FRIEND! It's been to long!" His contact gave him a hearty embrace, which he returned. "So, seeing as how you are here. I take it you got my message?"
Jerome took a seat back on the couch. "Yeah Brick, I did." He replied flatly. "I've been busy, so i couldn't come at the time you requested. The vampires of late have been more of a challenge."
Brick let out a hearty chuckle, while walking to the kitchenette. The man was overweight, which was unusual considering the state of the world. He always wore a fur robe and jeans. Jerome didn't remember a time where he had never seen him without the ensemble. How he got the name Brick was a simple story however. The man was known for being in streetfights during his younger days. His weapon of choice? A brick. A hard solid brick. The man was skilled with it to. Although, if you mistake him for being a brute, you would be dead wrong. Behind that robe and fat, lay a constantly thinking mind. Always calculating, always thinking ahead. That's one of the reasons Jerome liked to work with him. Brick had all the angles covered when he gave him a job. The big man turned towards his guest. "I got another Job for you."
"What is it this time?" Usually the "jobs" Brick had were assasinations of immortals that had in some way, got on his badside. Other times, they were rescues, or kidnappings. Jerome wasn't payed in money. The reward was food, and a place to sleep with protection. Not to mention the security force that would cover his back if he needed them. So far though, he didn't need their assistance at all.
"The usual. I've got a target i need taken care of. He's a bloodsucker. The bastard attacked some of my security to get his fill. I lost 15 damn men to him. However, this time it's a little different. I want you to take a couple of your wolfie friends with you."
"I can handle the job alone, Brick, but thanks for the concern. Do you have a scent?" The big man knew all Jerome needed was a scent of his target to track. Most of the time, he had a piece of something for him.
"No, not this time. The bastard is slippery, and no i don't want you going alone. We know this guy has a host of slaves. They're humans. Now i know mere men and woman like me" He said gesturing towards himself. "Aren't much of a problem for you, but he has 3 of the messed up variant. The super ones. He's got about 23 in total, including the supers. So, for me at least, take a couple of your furry friends with you."
Jerome scratched his chin while he was thinking. The humans would be no problem, but the supers could get in the way. He might use some help on this one."Allright, fine Brick. Have it your way. I have a couple of friends i can call on." The big man nodded in satisfaction. "Now where is my target?"
"He's got a nice, big mansion in the hills. His slaves patrol the border fence and the supers keep the inside secure during the day. At night, when he leaves to feed, his slaves get some rest. It's a big dilapidated mansion to. Blood smeared on the front door, you can't miss it. Now i don't want this dirty bloodsucker coming back here for seconds, you take care of this in the next couple days."
Jerome nodded. "Allright Brick. Keep my room warm. This won't take long." He said getting up. The lycan gestured towards the window. "Open that."
Brick snorted in humor and slide the window up. "I still hate it when you do this."
Jerome smiled and sprinted towards the opening. He went perfectly straight and dived through it. Tucking and rolling, he turned his body and landed in a crouch outside. The lycan turned around and looked up to the two story window he had just exited. Brick stuck his hand out the window and gave him a thumbs. Jerome only noded, and ran into an ally across the street.
The lycan quickly removed all of his clothes and equipment and changed into his wolf form. Qiuckly, he ran back into the street and let loose a howl that echoed for miles.
