Here comes the rain again, falling on my head like a memory. Falling on my head like a new emotion.
The soft murmur of music filled the well of her ear jaggedly, broken and interrupted by the thick rain drops that were falling at a hard but quick constant. Water fell in rivulets down the female’s body, jarring her into a memory she had no place being in – the second time out of many to come within that past week. The soft pitter patter of her feet as they ran towards the cabin – where he had been waiting for her. The heated words, soft embrace, and soothing touches felt all too real in that very moment, the pain of remembering the night of her and her former mate’s re-acquaintance throwing her back into reality. She realized that she had stopped in her tracks and stood open and vulnerable for any one being to attack her – a very stupid, stupid decision.
Here comes the rain again, raining in my head like a tragedy. Tearing me apart like a new emotion.
Sasha had almost forgotten the song that was playing just as irregularly as it had been moments before – the chorus drowned out by the brief vision that had flashed before her eyes. The anger was still ever present within her, not easily shaken from the terribly new loss of Ivan which in turn was something almost too difficult to comprehend. “I wish it was all a dream,” she whispered, rain water falling into her mouth in the small seconds she had spent saying the one simple sentence. It took almost all of her strength to not fall to her knees and cry out, scream her agony out into the chilled night air. Almost. Goosebumps rose along her flesh, a sure sign that she should make a break for the convenience store that lay just ahead of her – something that she wouldn’t have had to do if he was still a constant in her life. She could imagine the night they would have been having; the candle light and possible soft tunes in the background, the sweet kisses and innocent touches, and not to forget the comfortable smell and feel of their worn down mattress and silken sheets.
Here comes the rain aga-…
The music had become more annoying than comforting to a point that the she wolf ripped the headphones from her ear and threw them towards the ground. She felt the slight jerk as the old mp3 player slipped from the too small pocket of her jeans and heard the clatter as the plastic skittered across the wet pavement into a large puddle. “So much for reminiscing,” she breathed, her tongue rolling with ease to make the words audible as she set one foot in front of the other. Her slow walk quickly turned into a jog which – just as quickly – turned into a sprint. The rain felt heavy and thick against her skin as the water pasted her clothes and hair ever tighter against her body – a smaller worry than getting into the store which would undoubtedly be warmer and dryer than standing in the middle of the hazardous street.
The impact of Sasha’s hands on the door was enough to dent the already bent metal bar further as she used pieces and parts of her supernatural strength to budge the door open. One moment she was pressing against the door and the next she was falling towards the dirty, cluttered floor. The shock of just how easy the door had been to open startled her more than the fall did as she threw her arms out carefully to try and break the fall even the slightest bit. The impact of her hands on the floor was followed by first her elbows and chest, then her hipbone and so on and so forth. The momentary pain was enough to make her grit her teeth and raise her lip in a slight snarl – a habit of hers. A sigh escaped through her clenched teeth and barely parted lips as she rested her forehead against the nasty tile. She was unaware of the figure somewhere to her left, unaware of any damage she had caused to the already wrecked store.
“Fuck,” Sasha said in defeat, closing her eyes.[/font]
