After carefully stepping off the sinking boat he landed on the remains of a once large dock. Without stopping to take in his surroundings he marched forward with his coat waving in the wind and being pelted with leaves. It was dark when Josie finally approached the highest point he could find within the once great and glowing city. Without so much of a sound he quickly observed his surroundings, and then unstrapped a metal coated guitar from his back. Whirling his hair so it was out of his eyes and making sure the sword was loosely attached to his belt he carefully handled the metal covered guitar. Observing the shadows and taking in the sounds he sighed and took one step. It seemed that at that moment the wind refused to touch him, and all leaves repelled from him causing an awe inspiring feeling in his heart.
“This place is just too dull, it needs a little music.” He opened a latch on the guitar and took out a violin of the same appearance of the guitar. After placing the violin in the correct position he began to play. And with each stroke came a soft cry of sorrow, hope, and memories. With every stroke he remembered the world as it once was, and remembered her face more clearly. The sound echoed throughout the city, causing an odd effect as though it had never before been caught in a constant battle. The memories of those long gone seemed to erupt from the shadows, yet it was just an illusion made in the minds of those that could hear the vibrations.
< Hours later>
Josie stopped playing the song and bowed, thanking anyone in the shadows or even the wind itself for listening. Taking time to only observe the city for the first time and to get his bearings and to make sure his thoughts were in order as to where he wanted to go he continued. Quickly packing up the instrument he attached the violin back to its place and began to move slowly through the rubble toward a thin outline of someone in the distance, playing a completely new song on the guitar. As he walked he thought of the safe bunker he had been living in for all those years in which he had slowly trained his body to a state in which he could just barely compete with an immortal, yet his body was new and was not fully used to it just yet. He had heard of a human base called the haven from a few wandering humans near the bunker before they were killed by some outsiders. All he had to do was go and present himself o he base and maybe he would get some answers about where "she" might be. - Good thing those badges my parents had are still with me, maybe someone there would respect their old position.- Were the thoughts that raced through his mind as he grew ever so closer to the figure he had been moving toward for the last few minutes. With each stride his senses seemed to pick up a bit to gather some good data on the situation.
