It was a day absent of light for Iris as she approached Haven. The trench coat Vlad had given her was clutched tightly around her as protection from the biting cold, but at the same time causing a gnawing at her emotional side from what he had done to her. She had spritzed the coat in a perfume she had found on her way there, and hoped it would negate the smell of vampire on the trench coat. As she approached the gate she dried her eyes and stopped in front of the massive gate that was the entrance to Haven.
There Iris stood looking a total wreck, but holding her confidence and pride with her back erect and the coat clutched around her with a grip that could kill. Iris didn't have her usual kind and caring glance that was like rolling fields of lavender, but more like frozen amethyst cold and uncaring, but with an oddly calming and cooling effect to it with the biting edges that happened involuntarily. The wind whistled through Iris's strawberry blonde hair and she surveyed her surroundings with a cold, calculating glance cutting through all the crap in her surroundings to the center of things.
The gates stood tall and proud in the night, and she glared at them as if her gaze could will this betraying structure of her disfavor to fall. Guards surrounded the perimeter and she softened her gaze a bit towards them though she felt disgusted with them with every fiber of her being at the moment. Iris was not at her most emotionally stable moment right now and would not hesitate to attack anyone or anything that got on her nerves.
Iris walked through the gate without much trouble and with newly found purpose strode towards her room and plopped herself onto the bed letting the warmth of the room encircle her. No matter how much she wished to be back at the beach with him Iris knew she had to stay here and stay safe from the cold since they could never be. Iris had to break that bond that had seemed to grow so strong after one meeting no matter how painful and it would have to start with the trench coat.
Iris tore the trench coat off herself and into the corner of the room with a combination of blind rage and sadness then collapsed onto her bed as a wave of silent sobs hit her like a truck. Suppressing the noise from the crying as much as she could Iris dug her face into her pillow willing her eyes to tear up and clear tears fall over the edges of her lids.
