Light hearted humming filled the area as the female angel walked among the strange buildings. She marveled at the structures, touching the metal frames curiously. How had a civilization obtained so much metal, and why waste it on storage? Stone worked just as well, and metal was best spent making armor and weapons. It was a alloy she hadn’t seen before either. Her curiosity got the better of her as she took off her glove and felt the metal walls. Strange, she was sure it was metal, but there was something covering it.
She returned her hand to its home in the metal and leather gauntlet. Reaching out again to the metal structure, she grabbed it and bent the material rather easily. Weak, and thin. What was the point of using metal? This was hardly good protection. It couldn’t have been for military purposes, it was hardly any better then stone. As her hand left it, some of the green material covering it wore off on her hand. A silver plate shined back at her in the moonlight. Her everpresent smile got slightly brighter as she understood. It was covered in some kind of dye. That’s why it did not feel like metal, but why did they cover it in dye? What was the point?
A thousand ideas went through her mind as she tried to figure it out. Maybe it was for organizational purposes. Perhaps they had clans like the angels did on this land. Thus the coloring was for them to determine which storage facilities were theirs? Or maybe it was for different purposes. They seemed to have a large quantity of resources, so maybe they were colored for them to tell what each building contained. Maybe green was food, red might be leather or cloths, and maybe blue was metal. That could also explain why they had numbers resembling the angel’s language on them. A little different from the angel’s written numbers but rather close. To determine what metal, food, or cloth went in which building.
Finding the gate to the building, she tried to open it, finding it locked. Still smiling gently, she brought her fist back and slammed it into the door, blasting it open with her immense strength. A large straining noise could be heard as the right door of the gate was sent back so hard the metal hinges bent and broke off. She sighed, this was why you didn’t use cheap metal. Only the finest should be used, and the worst should be melted down and made into something more valuable.
Loud footsteps could be heard along with the sounds of her mail moving as she walked. She wasn’t meant for stealth anyhow. And there was only a few auras near by. She walked to the metal crates near her, slightly annoyed the people of this land used their resources so carelessly. Especially metal, it was such a important and precious material, it should be treated better. Her hand found a ledge on the lid, and forced it open. Surprisingly, it had been harder to open then she had expected. Brown skin became taunt under her armor as her muscles bulged under the strain. With a audible crash the lid flew off landing and tumbling a few yards away. Inside was strange packages she had never seen the likes of before. Pictures of what she guessed was food was upon each package, along with several words she didn’t understand, “Carbohydrates… Protein…Vitamin C?” The words meant nothing to her, and she placed the few items she picked up back down.
She would have food at least here, despite whether it was good food or not. Her eyes scanned the rest of the building, trying to decide what to do next, but her thought process was interrupted as an aura within a close proximity caught her attention. A metal clad hand shot towards Broken Blade and her other went to the latch holding it to her back. Releasing the weapon from the metal sheath, she brought it to her side, her arm straining to hold it easily with one arm. She ducked her chin so that it met her collarbone, hiding her mouth and nose behind a ridge that was designed to play as a neck, and lower head guard. A few holes in the guard allowed her to breath easily, and a layer of tiny chain mail prevented projectiles from being shot through.
“Whoever you are, reveal yourself now, or I am afraid my partner here might decide he wants to chew upon your flesh.”
