Name: Lucas Sorensen Theissen
Nick Name: Luca
Race: Werebeast
Species: (Varanus komodoensis) Komodo Dragon
Gender: Male
Age: Forty-six (though his bodies physical aging has slowed due to the Komodo DNA)
Appearance: Standing at just a hair under six feet two inches, Luca is by most standards an average looking man. His body isn't riddled with the massive muscles of a man driven by a need for strength, nor is it thin and wispy, he is simply of average build. His face boasts high cheekbones with a powerful jawline. Eyes are a cold and placid yellow, one effect from his Change he has been powerless to change. Luca's hair is short and brown, just long enough to run a hand through it and call it good. He is commonly seen sporting jeans, a simple pair of tan boots, whatever shirt he can get his hands on, and depending on the weather he'll steal whatever the hell else he needs.
Weapon: Just from the night everything went to shit, Luca has a hatchet that he had kept in his home next to a wood-burning stove. Other then that, not so much anymore. His guns ran out of bullets a long time ago, and he was never a Medieval Crusader so he never owned a sword or bow. Usually when it comes down to it, Luca is brawling it out with fists, feet, pipes and whatever else he can get his scaly paws on.
History: A simple guy from Jersey, Luca was never really much of anything special. He graduated from high school in the top fifteen of his class, not a major accomplishment by any means, but hey, in a neighborhood like the one he had grown up in, the fact that he even graduated was a step in the right direction.
After a five year stint at St. George's college in northern New Jersey, Luca was out into the real world, flat ass broke, and what some might say a little lost.
However, that's when he met her. Rachael. She was one of those "love at first sight" kinda girls. She was everything to him. However, almost a year into their relationship things got bad in a sort of way that no one could have prepared themselves for in any way.
After that things became a blur, things that he honestly cannot remember. However, the one constant is the memory of the pain. To this day it still fills his mind, and in some ways even aids him. Since the world fell to shit Luca has been stabbed, beaten and shot; but nothing can compare to the pain those scientists put him through. However, he does remember that day he simply found himself coming out of that daze and that he was sitting on a bench in front of a bus stop in Trenton, New Jersey. He was home. In fact, he remembers that day quite clearly. Thoughts like 'had it all been a dream' flooded through his mind. Whatever was going on, the first place he went was back to his parents house, he needed a few friendly faces.
It was when he got there that he knew everything had changed, that he couldn't hide in the safe world of thinking that everything had only been a dream. Walking into the home of his parents, he yelled for them like he always did, and he only heard his Father curse and his Mother scream. they had both rushed into the walkway, and upon seeing them his Mother had cried and his Father had struck him.
Several hours later, as things had calmed down, Luca had learned that everyone had thought him dead. He had been missing for a year and a half without so much as a word. However, that wasn't even the biggest thing to have happened. Brian, his Father, rose from the table and told Rose, his Mother, to wait downstairs. Brian went back upstairs, where they had been before Luca had arrived, and he came back downstairs with a beautiful little girl in his arms, no more than a year old. Her name was Breanna, and she was his daughter.
Luca learned that the day he had disappeared Rachael had been four months pregnant, and that she was going to tell him the day of their one year anniversary, which had only been a week or so later. However, upon his disappearance everyone had thought he had run away or worse. Rachael had told Brian and Rose she couldn't raise this baby on her own, that she didn't want it. She had made them an offer, either they take it or she was giving it up for adoption. Brian and Rose, stricken with grief believing their only son to be dead, had gladly taken the child as a form to remember their son by. A way to never forget.
After a few weeks of being free, Luca was living with his parents who were more than happy to accommodate their long lost son and his daughter. The second after the initial shock of having a daughter had worn off, he had accepted his baby girl with nothing short of pure love and joy. Rachael was gone, and he didn't blame her, but he had Breanna. He had his beautiful daughter, and despite the horrors of his life over the last year or so, this almost made it worth it.
Then things, once again, got worse. It seemed like whenever Luca managed to pick himself up the world kicked him back down. A lot of people had noticed the slow change in his eyes since his return. They watched as his iris's changed from hazel to a bright and stark yellow, then slowly the entire eye changing as well to the bright color. The red veins turned to a dark black and his pupils narrowed to those of lizard eyes, looking completely inhuman.
As the weeks wore on he began to change more and more, and it was something he definitely noticed. His eyesight seemed to change with his eyes themselves. He began to notice he could see in great detail from further and further away. His nose became so sensitive that he could track things from miles away. Then it got weirder. One day on a job site, seeing as how he had gotten work as a construction worker, a beam had fallen on Luca's arm, an injury that should have torn skin and shattered the bone. However, he had easily moved the hefty beam off of his arm and only his shirt had been torn. Yeah, things were getting weird for him.
However, just as he was starting to figure things out and what had happened, thanks to the efforts of the Councils, it was too late. Everything fell to the shit and the world literally turned on itself. One by one people began to perish as mass panic, looting and finally the Outsiders began their work. Brian and Rose had been murdered on their way to the Docks to try and get a boat out of New Jersey, and worst of all they had taken Breanna with them. As everything had gone off, Luca had been in New York seeking information about what he was from the many Councils, and because of that he had been locked in the center of that Shit Storm. By the time he had finally gotten out of New York and back to Jersey it was too late. His parents house had already been looted and it was completely empty, with no sign of any of his family.
That was the day he finally broke down. It was when he finally let everything come out. Losing Rachael, losing so much of his life, not knowing what he was anymore, losing his parents; but most of all losing her. His baby girl. Breanna was almost four now, a dark haired little beauty. She had never known just how much of her Dad's world she had been. He had tightly held onto a picture of him holding her, one that she had always kept in her room. Tears stung at his eyes, outside he could hear the sounds of gunfire every now and then, sometimes a distant siren as the whole world turned on one another.
And there he sat alone, for how long he doesn't remember.
Shortly after that, he stopped caring. If the world was going to turn itself into one giant cluster fuck, then he'd jump in on it. It was in these months of violence and revenge that he got a grip on what he was, that he learned to use his new abilities. It was during those times that he mastered the art of his transformation and understood what that meant for him. What that meant he was capable of.
Returning to New York, Luca found himself face to face with new creatures. Angels. They looked so much like the beings of myth, though in action they were much different. Adapting to this new place, Luca set out. What he wanted he had no idea, no motives. He couldn't be bribed, bought or threatened. He was simply a man, and New York was his new home.

Personality: Embracing the lizard within himself, Luca has become a cold man. That's not to say he is sadistic and murderous, he has just adapted to what it takes to survive in this world. He looks out for only himself and has no problem double-crossing or even back-stabbing if it will guarantee his own survival by just that much more. The notions of love, kindness, and a gentle nature seem laughable to him at this point. After what he has personally gone through and by simply the things he has seen and done in this new world, he believes that this apocalypse has brought with it a revolution within emotions. It is more true now than any other time, only the strong will survive.
WereBeast information: In his transformed state Luca stands at a solid seven feet tall, something not that odd seeing as how Komodo's themselves are nine-feet. In this hybrid form he weighs in at an impressive three-hundred and fifty pounds. The density of his bones thickens and his skin becomes hard and leathery, the scales able to turn back low caliber bullets and unsharpened blades. His strength while transformed is far greater than that of most WereBeasts, but the origins of his altered DNA explain that. Komodo's, after all, are known for strength and viciousness, not speed. He is still able to keep up with a Human and catch them easily enough, but other Immortals will out run him without a problem.
Each finger is tipped with a viciously curved claw that measures six inches and is designed only for tearing large chunks of flesh from the body. His teeth are hooked and also function the same way as the claws, being used for tearing and shredding flesh and muscle. Like Komodo's, the saliva within the maw of his Hybrid form is also incredibly dangerous when allowed into the bloodstream. With fifty-seven different strains of bacteria found within Komodo saliva, a bite from a transformed Luca to a Human is almost always fatal if medical attention is not sought after quickly. On the flipside this means that Luca is completely incapable of turning Humans.
His eyesight, in both Human and Hybrid form as increased to supernatural levels since his change, as have that of his sense of smell. In fact, Luca is capable of tracking beings from their scent upon the air alone. However, his hearing and night vision are still equal to those of humans, meaning at night he must rely on instincts and that keen nose of his.

"Ugh..." Blinking several times in an attempt to regain his grip on reality, he tried to remember what the hell had happened, however it only came in rushed fragments. Blinking several more times he was managed to bring a few jumbled memories to the surface, things like a van, masked men, a syringe...but after that he was at a loss. Another groan escaped is pained lips as Luca let his head fall back, and it was then he noticed the uncomfortable chill of a cold steel table beneath him. Becoming suddenly panicked, his tried to jerk his arms away and lift himself, however in his daze he had paid no mind to the fact that he was safely secured to the cold table, that this steel bed was his prison. Letting out a scream of anguish, Luca desperately tugged at the bindings that held him in place, his movements driven by fear and desperation, his eyes showing the terror his heart felt.
At the summonings of the commotion three men entered. Two were clad in the customary garbs of lab techs, while the third looked like the Soldier of Fortune himself. Little did the poor guy from Jersey know that he was starring at the scientists responsible for attempting to create a new type of Were that could be used by Uncle Sam, or that he was looking upon one of the new Super Soldiers themselves. All he saw where his captors. And how did he greet them? "Fuck you!" And with that hawking a large wad of spit onto one of the scientists. A fraction of a second later the butt of an assault rifle struck him in the forehead with enough force to daze his mind and send him spinning back to that prison within his own mind. The last words he heard where those of, "Varanus komodoensis...."
