It was late out already, and here she was, walking into the park alone at night. Not exactly the smartest thing to do, but when you were depressed and didn’t know what else to do, you sort of didn’t do many smart things, and in her case its been a lot lately. She reached up with her hand and pulled at the rubber band that held her dark brown hair together and let it down just as a chilled wing blew against her making it wave about almost like hands waving goodbye as she walked along. She pulled out the black cap from the inside of her jacket as she zipped it up to the top in order to hide her mouth and chin from the cold. Slipping the cap on, she slightly tamed it from blowing around into her face, but with her hair down her ears were warm. Slipping her hands into her pockets, she was breathing through her nose watching as the hot breath appeared as a cloud and rose into the air above her. Beside her, she could hear Miko’s paws pushing down heavy against the cold floor and she knew the poor animal was just as cold as she was walking along. She should have thought better then to come to a park for some sort of shelter, but what else was there? At least in this place, she could think of serenity. Anything with the possibility of having something green in it seemed to calm her, like tree’s even though flowers now a days were so far and few in between. She stopped a moment and looked off to the side and looked at the wide open space before her with tables and small grills sticking out of the ground, least what was left of them.
In her mind, she suddenly vanished from this time of chaos and devastation as that green space before her was suddenly filled with the bright sun. She could see people sun bathing in the bright sun, as others were playing games even a old couple was out flying there kites as children laughed and played by the pond splashing each other. She could hear the soft calling of the docks in the distance. Blinking her eyes, she was brought back to reality and it wasn’t as beautiful as it was in her mind, in fact it made her wonder when she would ever see beautiful again. Miko whined as she sat down and looked up at her. Looking down at the animal she sighed and reached a hand down and stroked her head. “I know….I am cold as well…” She said as she slipped her hand back into her pockets and walked on. There wasn’t exactly any place that was completely covered that they could hide in from the cold. Instead, she found a Merry-go-round which didn’t even seem like it could work, but she could be wrong. As she moved through the opening towards the object she stopped a moment using her green eyes to scan over the surface and double check for anyone who may already be inside it. Nothing, least she didn’t notice anyone. Miko was quick to run towards it, and with a small hop, she occupied one of the rides seats which happened to remind her of a buggy without the wheels and horse to pull at it. Least, it had its back against the wind which meant there was some sort of shelter there.
Climbing up, she heard the thing whine and creek against the new movement as she stopped. She shouldn’t be making so much noise at this hour. Granted, she could probably be smelled but there were other things out there she didn’t want to be found out by. She walked slowly, avoiding making as much noise as possible as she sat down on the inside of the little seat and removed her bag. She pushed it against one side and leaned against it, raising her feet and wrapping her arms around her legs so she could tuck her face into her knee’s just so her eyes was looking out to the view which was offered by her seating position. Miko had rolled up against her in her own spot, now a days any form of body heat was needed let it be human or not, and she wasn’t about to deny the animal that pleasure nor herself. So far, her trip here had been disappointing and she wasn’t happy, in fact she had slipped into a small vat of depression because she hadn’t really remembered anything useful. She hadn’t found what she came looking for because it seemed she couldn’t find a map or even someone who was willing to help her. She had found Haven, but as soon as she explored, she lost it now not knowing how to return to it. Which stuck her in the park, sitting in the cold and hungry. Yet, the worst was that it wasn’t just her who was suffering, Miko was as well. It was at the point where she felt guilty, even if she tried to leave her behind where its warm, where she could be cared for better then what Yuki could provide, the animal refused. Wanting to remain with her.
What kind of bond did she share with it? She wished she could remember, and the frustration of it all was starting to build up inside her chest and she felt as if she was going to explode from the feeling if she didn’t find some sort of answer or relief soon. “Next time….We are getting room service…” She said sarcastically trying to find some sort of sense of humor in there bad luck as Miko made a grunting sound of agreement. That put a smile on her face, how many people can have a conversation with a dog? Yeah, she was going insane, FAST.
