"Oh cher... Je déteste cet endroit renoncé," Raed muttered as she crept through the trees to find her way to the abandoned church and graveyard. She had heard about it while eavesdropping upon a few older werewolves and had decided that it would be a good place to just think. Before she had been turned Raed had actually been a rather religious person but not in a Christian sense. She and her father had practiced the general ways of the Native Americans and Wiccans; having great respect for nature and honoring that around them. Thus, a church was never a common setting for her to be found. But, in certain situations, odd behavior was called for. As she wandered up the deserted path to the large church door, several things caught her eye.
A long tree stood apart from the large building, crooked and bent in the middle of the graveyard. Several headstones had been knocked over during the course of many harsh weathered years and a few were even snapped in half, the sheer stone split. The wind gently blew the leaves on the ground as Raed's eyes glanced up at the milky sky, the countless clouds gray and heavy with precipitation. What sunlight could be seen was spread out and was much too weak to grace the earth's surface with it's rays. Upon the once white church's walls there was a sort of mildew that had begun crawling up it's side, creeping undoubtedly into the very support of the chapel. Ivy as well could be seen growing up and around the building, giving it a sort of antique character that made Raed grimace.
Raed found herself leaning against the doorframe of the church, looking out over the headstones. How many of these people could've seen what would be going on in the world now? How many knew about everything? Raed did not believe in a Heaven or Hell, despite the Angels that would most likely disagree. She believed in a Here and a Now, and that's all that mattered to her. Being young, Raed had not had many chances to truly experience the world for her own and thus could not possibly understand all of the different view points of the different races around her. She could, however, see where they were coming from.
A rather creeping feeling swept into Raed as she thought she could feel the intense gaze of someone's eyes boring into her, causing her skin to crawl anxiously. Immediately aware of her surroundings, Raed did not see any obvious persons around so she quietly pushed open the half-broken door of the chapel and stepped into the empty building. Once inside, however, she almost immediately regretted her choice. It was dramatically more eerie in here than it had been out near the graveyard where at least she could feel the breeze upon the nape of her neck. Inside the church Raed could see all of the broken stained glass windows that still had metal grates covering them, the moldy pews some of which had been totally destroyed and decomposed, the altar which seemed to have been ravaged for all valuables and stood in shreds.
As she walked down the aisle which was full of wooden debris, Raed continued to feel as if she were being watched by someone. It was a sickening feeling that seemed to consume her from her mind out. She continued anyway, keeping her footsteps light but even. It only took her a few moments before she heard the unmistakeable sound of the door opening and she twirled around, her eyes wide and her reflexes ready for anything.
