A heavy breath of fresh air. A cold eerie breeze brushed against his face. Gabriel Cox took in the free oxygen, however released a hacking cough as the sizzling burn of noxious fumes enveloped his throat. "Jesus..." He choked, rubbing the uncomfortable feeling still lingering in his larynx. Cox poked his head and with his bright azure eyes observed his surrounding. The coast was clear, however he did not trust one's eyes. The eyes sometimes only allow you to see what is familiar, and seeing a being in this place was very unfamiliar to his senses. He tossed his head back, allowing a better view through his brunette brow. He didn't spot anyone and there was no strange smell in the air signaling maybe there was someone around. His senses were not as excellent as a vampire or werewolf, but super humans were not easy to match either. Just to be sure, he hooked his hand inside a weapon holstered at his side. Slipping his hand into the hatch and wrapping his long fingers around the handle, the KAS 1 revealed itself. With a flip of a switch he was prepared for anything that could come for him. He stepped from his hiding place like a weary mouse exiting its hole.
It was true. His base was buried beneath the sanctuary of God Himself. Ironic as well since he considered himself quite the Atheist. Oh well, one must consider their circumstances. He had dug and dug into a grave and deeper still into the earth. Anyone could enter the base, but it really the trouble of finding it in this immense collection of dead. Cox was exiting farther and farther into the real world of war. He hadn't been up here for weeks and it was all an overwhelming shock he rose from the ground. The two world were so different. Gabe was almost tempted to go back inside because it was so alien to him. However, he didn't supplies and he could no longer live off of Cheetos and Root Beer. I don't think I can ever look at those two snacks the same again. He said to himself with an aching voice. He was tired of the food and his mind was screaming for some nutrition.
Before long, he was completely out of his protective earthen barrier. His hand still perched over his KAS, he was prepared for anything to come out. He continued to gaze around like a paranoid freak. He listened for any sign of approaching beings. Silence. Complete silence.
Usually, that's not a good sign, but what I am talking about. I'm overly paranoid here. He informed himself with a heavy sigh. After a few moments he pulled his hand from beneath his weapon. He gave a relaxed huff and threw his head back. His neck rang a loud crack! and his twitched at the sound. He rolled his shoulders, another pop. His back, legs, and ankles, even wrists gave a loud expansive crack! "Ah... so much better." He informed.
He took a step forward, feeling more confident that for now he was not to be attacked. Again, at least, for now. Gabe went on his way to the city so he could gather up some supplies for survival as well as work purposes. He needed more parts for weapons so he regularly would go the cities and collect whatever he would find. Typically, Gabe can change one object to be something used for completely different purposes, so he needed all the help he could get.
