She had to get back to her base... She... she had to get back and... and patch herself back up. That's what she needed. She needed to help herself, fix herself up, bandage her wounds, pop tons of pain killer.
Avery whimpered, inadvertently coughing up blood. She dragged herself along the filthy street and sidewalk, her arms doing most of the work. A wince met her face as she felt her wounds stretch and tear at the strenuous work and the friction between the ground and her body. Her breath was ragged and painful. Her chest heaved as she felt her remaining strength draining from her. She had to keep going. She wasn't going to die here. Hell no. Fuck that! Avery wasn't going to just roll over and die and just take the cards that had been dealt. She got herself into this mess and she can get herself out. That's how she saw it, and she would be preaching that to herself if she had the energy to and even the comprehension to.
Pain was shooting throughout her entire body but it had been doing so for so long that it was almost like white noise - white feeling of complacency. Avery couldn't hold back the pathetic sob that escaped her lips as she slowly made her way forward. It was taking so long, and time seemed to be on a stand still.
Serves the bitch right. She'd badmouthed a vampire, shot a gun right next to his hypersensitive ears and expected to just walk away from that without any sort of punishment? How she even got away is beyond her.Quite frankly, she should be dead right now, but it seemed like fate had other plans for her. Just as the filthy bloodsucker (let's just say she killed Maha since he isn't even around anymore, and if he comes back, we'll just say it was an NPC) was about to finish her off, Avery was lucky enough to be lying near a steel rod with a sharp tip. Just her luck. As he was about to drink her blood, Avery thrust the newly found weapon up and into his heart, killing him. And now she was here, dragging her sorry, dying ass to her camp out where all her supplies were. She was surprised more bloodsuckers hadn't descended and finished the job. Where were all the vampires anyway? Had she done such a good job at hunting and killing them that it was finally starting to make an impact? Well, to say the least, Avery wasn't much one for keeping up on the daily news.
"Ah!" she hissed in pain as she just felt that she couldn't go on. She rolled over onto her back and looked up at the polluted sky. The stars were still hard to see, and instead of a peaceful image to be her last, it was disgusting and she was left with a grossed out expression. "Ugh..." she moaned apathetically. She winced as she felt pain shoot through her again.
"I'm fucked..."
This was not her night.
