The toy store stood occupied, figures seen clearly on the inside while a Caucasian male leaned on the entrance with arms crossed. The sounds pups from the inside, gentle and young dominated the room while a dark figure crouched down near the two playmates. An ebony hand passed over the male pups head, gently rubbing across it and soon the process was repeated with the female. Nobody said a word, the only noise coming from the two playing with the assorted toys near them. The ebony wolf near them stared down at the hard pups with a soft gaze that did not fit his usual stern mask. For moments he simply watched them playing, a certain warmth arising in his heart as he watched his two pups. They were careless, not a worry or care in the world as they went about with what babies did. They just simply played, with nothing bothering them. It was single handedly one of the best points in life. The simply point when nothing could ever bother them, aside from basic needs that would be satisfied by the tiniest of utters from them both. Slowly, another movement came from the larger figure. The beta leaned forward, giving gentle kisses to both their foreheads. Both eyes looked up to him as he rose, no clothes lining his body save a pair of soon to be torn apart shorts.
The beta smoothly stepped to the entrance of the childrens store his eyes now glazing over with the hard mask he was so used to wearing. “Keegan.” His voiced cracked out as he began to sink into the battle state of mind. “Take of them while I’m away.”
“You got it chief, just like always.” The wolf said before pushing off the wall and striding in with the pups. Yet movement off in the darkness made it clear another wolf was nearby, this one female. Her red hair marked her as Lacy, Keegan’s sister. Jerome set his silver eyes on her and jerked his head towards the door where the other wolves were waiting. Like clockwork, she moved off the wall and strode with Jerome to the front of the mall.
The front doors creaked open as the pair stepped out, right into the group of ten waiting silently outside, all in different positions of waiting. All of them waiting with the fire of combat in their eyes. They had been handpicked for specifics reasons and he knew they were all ready for what was to come. Then, Jerome gave the gesture and suddenly, the collection of wolves all began their shifts. Men and women all keeled over over writhed as expressions suddenly became and enraged and agonized. A horrendous chorus of twisting limbs and snapping bones created a symphony in front of the mall as all the collected werewolves took on their hybrid forms. Yes, all the wolves had achieved the hybrid form. The beta wasn’t taking any chances with this capture, seasoned wolves were all he was taking. Anything less was dubbed not eligible. Jerome did not want losses with this excursion, and by taking the most seasoned wolves, it increased the chances that there would be none.
After a few moments, twelve hybrids stood tall with a large ebony in the middle. A quick huffing growl was the signal to begin moving and swiftly, all the wolves pushed on, driving down the streets towards the rendezvous point.
