Thunder cracked in the dark clouds over her head while she ran through the streets trying to get back to Haven before the storm broke out worse then it already had. Falling on the wet pavement the human jumped right back up and took off running again. She hated being in thunderstorms, watching them yes, in them hell no. Her guns were also getting wet. Had been her choice to go out in a shirt that showed her midriff and her usual hip hugger jeans but guns rusted if you didn’t clean them right away after being wet. Blaze fell again. “My fuckin god!” she cursed the wet ground as she went to her knees to try and get up again. She had been out looking for a fight to let off steam what she hadn’t wanted was to get caught in the rain. Standing up again she started to jog making sure to place her feet exactly how they needed to be placed so that she wouldn’t fall again. She was betting some immortal was out there laughing at her for having fallen now like five times since leaving her fight with the young wolf she had run in to.
Haven was only a few blocks away when she found cover under an awning from some long forgotten store. Gasping for breath she looked up and flipped off the one sky and its pelting rain. Lightning shot across the clouds and struck the street just a ways up, ok so the sky was mad at her too. Sitting down on the stoop to the store Blaze curled up with her legs to her chest. This really bloody sucked for her. Though the occasional flash and clap were like the lights and music of the clubs. That put a smile on her face and she stood up to go and do what everyone has always told her to do. To sing and dance in the rain!
Going out into the water fallen street she began to sing a salsa song that her mother had taught her to dance to. Her hips moving to the beat that she knew by heart.
Mueva al ritmo de la noche.
Baile hasta que usted vea la luz.
Oscile las caderas de un lado a otro.
Y se desliza en la marea de océano.
(move to the rhythm of the night.
dance until you see the light.
sway your hips from side to side.
and glide into the ocean tide.)
She sang in her native tongue and loved it. Sure she could always find a reason to speak it but singing was always so foreign to her. It wasn’t that she had a bad voice just that she didn’t ever think to do it. She kept dancing till the end of the song when she stopped and started laughing. “Usted es un baile le engaña chica loca.” (you are a dancing fool you crazy girl) she said and put her face up so that the water could drop onto it with her eyes closed. The cool water after the dancing felt kind of nice. Everyone was right, she should have done this a long time ago.
