The cork ceiling had now become completely mapped out in the white wolf's mind. Kigai could not determine how long he had been lying there in the changing room of the clothing shop. This was the second night he had attempted to sleep in the place he had once planned to call home, not just for himself either. Piecing things back together was never easy, but it was nothing he wasn't used to. When your earliest memories are when you were a full grown adult, you spend most of your time attempting to put the broken pieces back together.
Tired of the insomnia, Kigai sat up off the old mattress and stepped out of the cramped room. But the world outside this small sanctuary only served to remind him of the many problems facing the pack. This was not what he needed, he needed a night of peace, perhaps to wake with a clear mind. With that, the wolf attempted to put his problems aside and head towards the exit of the building.
As the lycan proceeded through the halls of the large mall however, his large furred ears perked towards the sound of a male wolf cursing to himself not far ahead. Kigai knew many of the wolves have had a rough time adjusting to pack life, he was once among them. Feeling out of place in such a large social structure is very unnerving, often causing these wolves to disconnect from others. This cursing was an early sign of it.
The wolf came into view. Just as Kigai was about to pass the man, he spoke.
"Something on your mind?"
He said it more as a statement than a question as he paused his stride. Sometimes all one needs is someone to listen, and that's something Kigai could provide.
