The night at the warehouse had been just over a week ago. But walking back towards the base made it seem like ages ago. She had never met Strike before and here it looked like she was about to. Part of her was excited about that the other part was not. A hand rested on her stomach as she walked, granted she had her hands wrapped around her and so the small subtle movement was easy to not realize happening. It had been only a few days since that night next to the fire. Who was to say what was going to happen between her and the male wolf named Pope. Of course those were thoughts for later, not something that needed to be fretted about at the current moment. Taking a deep breath she walked a bit quicker until it was put into a run. Konen was just a few paces behind her when she had been walking so the pup was sure her twin would stay close to her easy enough. Jessi watched as the buildings blurred with the speed of the lycan as she ran. The cold air stung her eyes and made tears form but the wolfess blinked them away. The mall was just a couple blocks away.
Turning a corner she slid to a stop her hand going down to the snow and ice covered ground as she slid the extra limb to help balance her. Turning her eyes she spotted her twin and emerald green orbs watched as he came up. Just there in front of her was the front door to the mall. A door she didn’t use often. Standing to her full short height of five foot five the young wolf turned and started walking for the doors. She sniffed the air and turned in the direction of a scent she recognized. It was one of the guards from the first day though he was well hidden. She nodded acknowledging him and then went to the doors. Konen knew where to go, and she knew that they wouldn’t try to stop him, after all he was another wolf, and he was aligned to no pack. Letting the door close behind her Jessi looked around for a place to sit. Giving up she waited for Konen to come in and then sighed that he was taking so long. She had been impatient lately and knew not why. Again her thoughts drifted and she held her arms around herself tighter. It couldn’t be that.
The doors opened and she turned to look up at her twin. “You ready for this?” she asked and studied him. He didn’t look happy, that was to say for sure. Taking one hand she patted his shoulder and then turned to go further into the mall again. She didn’t know where to go and find Strike but she figured it couldn’t be too hard. She ran into one of the other wolves, a male who gave her a rather odd look which she ignored not wanting to ask or know what it meant. “I’m looking for Strike.” She said softly and he pointed her in the right direction to go but wasn’t sure exactly where the alpha was, just that he was usually down that way. Another sigh and Jessi motioned for her twin to follow her. The white wolf was nervous and her eyes bled to amber for a second before she pulled control on her emotions and everything else back. They kept walking down the hall waiting to see if Strike would just appear. Granted it was a big place so the Alpha of the pack could be anywhere. She wondered if Jerome would be easier to find since she knew his scent.
Turning a corner Jessi bumped into someone and fell to the floor landing on her rear and back. Her eyes had shut waiting for the impact but her head had tucked up to make sure it wasn’t injured. “My apologies.” She said her eyes not yet open. Jessi laid there for a second before sitting up her head down and rubbed her back. “I’m lookin for the leader.” She said just before opening her eyes. Her first instinct was to turn back and look at Konen. Their eyes met and then she slowly lifted herself from the ground. Her tailbone hurt a bit but it would go away in a couple of minutes. The wolfess moved to go around who she had bumped in to only to stop recognizing a scent. It was the same one from that day at the meeting. Her eyes lifted and she noticed it was the same man, and yet he wasn’t what she expected. “Oh…” was all she said when she noticed who this man was.
(Sorry for the format Konen and Strike. lol Wasn't sure what to do)
