Diving back down under the surface, the Dragon swam quickly through the water, it's powerful jaws snapping up another of the fat fish. That was one advantage he held that most of the beings running around this city didn't. With the amount of wild game becoming less and less as the Wolves and Humans hunted what they needed to survive and the Outsiders killed for their own sick joy food was becoming more and more scarce. However, the Komodo didn't need to go after land game, it was a capable swimmer and the fish that saw throughout Luirenstrand Bay where more than enough to quench his constant appetite. Swimming back to the surface, the Dragon's long body began to slowly make it's way towards the shore. It's powerful tail propelled it quickly through the choppy waters.
Luca knew that before the Fall Komodo Dragon's where thought to be kept on their little Island out in the Pacific, only seen off of it when kept in Zoos. Sometimes he wishes one of the City's past scientists still existed so they could have laid eyes upon the reptilian beast swimming through the waters of New York. He was more than certain that would have led to a few raised eyebrows and thoughts of confusion. Alas, in this day and age what was left of the Humans where kept hidden safely away at the Haven, and with Angels running around enslaving or killing all that they came upon, a Komodo swimming through the sea wasn't really that out of the ordinary.
Finally coming to the beach, the Dragon walked through the sand on all fours, it's thick and powerful body slowly dragging along the sand that was still warm from the sun's rays, the very same sun that had only dipped down below the horizon only an hour ago. Now, to those watching they would see a transformation that seemed to happen almost instantaneously. After years of practice, Luca had managed to cut his transformation time down to only a few seconds when switching from Animal to Man; it was only his Hybrid form that took a bit of time. So one moment when the eye would have seen the King of Reptiles lumbering upon beach, within the blink of an eye they would have suddenly seen the human form of Luca walking in it's place.
Making his way across the beach, his naked body becoming chilled from the gentle breeze that rolled in off the sea to cool his wet flesh, he headed for where his clothes had been stashed. Arriving at the now decaying and long ago abandoned Sangue Point Lighthouse, he walked right in. This was where he had been staying the last couple of days, basking in the sand and eating his fill of fish during the day, and hunkering down in the Lighthouse at night against to hide away from the boogey monsters and terrors that came out to play at night.
A few moments later Luca stood dressed, clad in a pair of worn jeans and a long-sleeve gray t-shirt. A simple white stocking cap sat atop his head, protecting his head from the cold breeze. Cigarette planted between his lips, Luca took another puff from the toxic smoke and let the smoke rush down his lungs. Those glowing amber eyes of his starred out into the waters before him. Oddly enough as the world around him fell further and further into disrepair, this place had served as a bit of a getaway. Almost a paradise.
Funny how he always found a way to make the best of any bad situation. With that thought he exhaled through his nostrils, a small smile dancing across his lips.
God damn he loved fish.
