It was raining when the musician reached the hospital, it had been a short trip yet it had been a dangerous one. Having already dodged about five encounters with outsiders he had a feeling that there were more perils in store for him within this rundown building. Looking at the list of items he had to collect he sighed quietly, the odds of him finding everything on the list was slim to none, most likely the hospital had already been ransacked by Haven, or anything else. Though the young man felt quite lucky to have survived the trip so far he felt that he needed more than luck to make it through this alive. The word from those he was here for was this place was a next of some sort, though he did not know what kind of nest. Sliding the service door with little effort he stood still listening to the silence that surrounded him, nothing not a sound. Patting himself softly he assured himself he had everything he needed, though he felt light without his instruments he knew that they would slow him down. Retrieving a flashlight from his almost empty rucksack he stepped slowly forward fully aware of his surroundings, “First stop penicillin.”
Hearing a sliding creak behind him the young musician turned around only to see the service door swing back and forth. “Calm yourself Josie its just the wind, though I wish I had some back up here,” Talking to himself he felt better, a bit more secure. “How did I get myself into this, oh yeah the doctor just had to be hot as hell,” Mumbling halfheartedly Josie trudged on through the dark corridor. Yeah he was a softie for good looking women, ever since he had regained his memories completely he felt more human. Not only that but he felt more capable of establishing relationships with others, more open about himself and less gloomy. His violent tendencies gone though he was not afraid to fight off any unwelcome company such as a leech, or a less friendly encounter. Stepping carefully withing the nearest supply closet he scanned the room for anything useful, nothing it had been stripped clean, even wire had been ripped from the walls. Rolling his eyes in frustration Josie began his search through the hospital yet again, stepping from room to room, finding a few useless items though not many. As his sweep of the first floor ended he slumped against a wall before beginning to check what he was able to locate successfully.
“Lets see, some pens, thermometers, aspirin, intravenous tubing, some hydrogen peroxide, and one bottle of penicillin.” Sighing Josie chuckled, all that work for a few knickknacks obviously the first floor would be stripped clean yet he had been capable of locating these items. After resting for 5 silent minutes the stairs were his next stop, the second floor might fare a better fate than the first. Gliding up one flight he landed upon the second floor, looking around he gasped in wonder, blood caked most walls as though a huge battle had been fought here. The blood seemed old, too old to be a few weeks walking carefully at full alert he walked room after room perplexed at finding not even the smallest hint of a corpse. Sweeping through this floor like the first he encountered a few other useful products from some gauges to bandages, even some other medications. So far so good, no threats, just an easy walk in the park, although he grumbled again, this was just one of the few buildings of the hospital, and this one had 4 floors. Climbing the next flight of stairs he encountered the door bolted shut, something was holding it closed from the other side. Attempting to enter from other entrances he found one loosely bolted, which he yanked apart with a crowbar.
Walking into the floor he observed the floor, everything was intact... Jackpot, this was definitely his lucky day, gathering what fit within his two sacks Josie placed the door back in its place making it look as though it had been untouched. Slamming his body against the door he heard the bolts slide into place, and tugging at the door it barely budged a centimeter, perfect. “And now, to haven, boy they are going to be glad to know about this.”
