She sat there on one of the benches watching out over the water. It had been a couple of hours since the pup had gone out to walk around the city feeling cooped up in the Mall and surrounded by all the other wolves. It had been a while since she had seen Pope as getting out had been hard. The earthquake had sent some of them into hysterics thinking the world was getting worse and it had. There were new places that she didn’t know and really didn’t want to go and explore either. Sighing Jessi rested her hand on her stomach and smiled softly. She wasn’t showing that much yet, just a slight bump appearing and making it so she had to get the next size up in pants. Well really she just pulled out a pair she didn’t wear often because she had bought them too big. The tank-top she had decided to put on was tight enough that it did show that small bump in her abdomen area. But she didn’t care. The wolfess was happy with what it meant and knew that the father to be was too. Though she felt sorry if the kid was a girl, she was going to go through hell just because her father would become too protective. He had said on more then one occasion not dating till thirty. Jessi gave a soft laugh and turned back to watching the water. A deer had come out from behind the merry-go-round to go and drink at the water. It was probably the only peace she would find as of late.
Standing and stretching the femme decided it was time to walk again. Sitting was just like what she did in the building on a day to day basis. The thought of swimming in the pond came to her mind, much like it did when she went to the waterfall, another place she hadn’t been to in a while. There were so many places she wanted to go but just hadn’t managed to get there yet today and might not till another day. But the water here was just calling her too much. She headed down closer to the pond and a little ways away from the deer. It lifted its head to watch her and his ear twitched. Jessi took a seat trying to give the animal its space only to have him step closer to her in curiosity. A smile graced her lips and the woman sat down to remove her boots, taking time to untie them so that sudden movements didn’t startle the creature that kept slowly walking towards her. “Curious about me?” she asked her voice soft. Something in her mind remembered that animals could tell if someone was pregnant. She remembered when one of the ladies in the pack had been expecting and kept getting random visits from animals both around their pack cave as well as strays from the city. Always made her laugh and brighten her day though much as this deer was doing for her. After all, she was alone out here. Someone there to talk to would be nice.
Setting her feet in the water after rolling her pants up she waited. Finally she felt the breath against her face as the deer thought to get that close. Glancing out of the corner of her eye she noticed that the buck was right next to her. Slowly she reached out her hand and brushed her fingers along his nose. He spooked a bit pulling his head back and Jessi let him decide what to do. Finally he came close again and she felt his tongue run along her cheek. It was rough much like a cat’s tongue but it wasn’t unusual to her. Slowly she reached out again and this time her fingers graced along his cheek. The fear was corse but nice to the touch. “There not so bad.” She said and kept stroking his cheek. The beast bent at the elbows and gently laid his body down next to her. The wolf pup could feel the heat from his body radiating against her form, this was always the best part of this time of year, the warmth that covered everything. Sighing she let her hand wander along its neck as her mind wandered to the thoughts that were going through the recesses of her mind. The thought of what to expect in the next five months with the pregnancy and what would happen after that. So lost in her thoughts Jessi didn’t notice when the deer laid his head down on her leg until the treelike antlers brushed her cheek. Laughing softly she laid back resting her head on the deer’s back. It was comfy to lay on, its heartbeat thumbing against her cheek. She knew this wouldn’t last for long, tranquility never did, but she would take it while she could.
