A beacon of pleasure this building used to be. Once long ago, humans would find pleasure in purchasing new goods here and there as they strolled through the city mall. This fact was unknown to the wolf padding along the marble floor now.
It had been a year since Kigai had seen this mall, this city. He wasn't quite sure what had brought him back. His memories here? The company of others? Reason didn't matter to him now, he walked to through the city, through the seemingly deserted mall, to the clothing store, all out of instinct, the way he had been living all this time.
As the white beast entered the shop he caught many scents, most foreign, one familiar. Though he had once wished to call this place home, he now felt to be stranger in this place. The claw marks he had made to mark his home may as well have been made by another wolf. For all he knew, they had been.
Standing there, alone in the store, Kigai could only try and organize the many thoughts racing through his mind. All he knew for sure was that he did not want to leave, but it's hard not to do so when he feels he does not belong. In ways he hoped that his previous mate had moved on, and found another. In other ways he wished someone was here to greet him.
A sudden fear struck through him as his thoughts turned towards the Alpha of the city's pack. Kigai could not even remember the beast's name, but he remembered the ominous power that the wolf had. Kigai worried now what would be done to him if he were discovered. If the ties that he had made in the pack were strong enough to be remembered for so long. He knew not the status of whatever war the alpha spoke of, nor did he truly care, but these wolves did, and such a long absence could be seen as a betrayal.
Kigai had not moved from his spot in the shop, staring towards the dressing room once so familiar to him. The mall was loud with silence.
