Alright so it was a new moon and she was wandering ALONE on the streets while basically seven months pregnant. Jessi couldn’t STAND being in the mall twenty four fucking seven anymore! She needed fresh air she needed to stretch her legs. Hell she just needed to see the damned sky! Sighing the she wolf shook her head and blinked her emerald green eyes. Yes she knew that if a couple of the wolves back in the mall found out she had snuck out she would be in some trouble but at the moment she didn’t really care! Turning her face upward she noted the stars that showed between the little bits of cloud. Yes it was a good night. Though she could smell the rain on the air and knew it would snow sooner rather than later at this rate. Oh well, there were buildings she could take refuge in if she needed to.
Turning down a side road a scent hit her nose. One she was actually quite familiar with. Though she couldn’t quite pin down as to why. Shrugging her shoulders the pup put her hands in the pockets of her coat and pulled it closer around her. She couldn’t really zip it shut as her stomach stuck out too much but just moving it closed helped. Taking in a deep breath it stung her lungs with how crisp it was mixed with the humidity. Yes it was winter so maybe the clouds overhead were actually hinting more towards snow. Oh well, either way she would be fine. She knew her way back and that was what counted. Hell if Jessi remembered right she wasn’t ACTUALLY all that far from the mall. Turning another corner the scent got stronger and this time the southern girl paused in her steps trying to make sure she could pin what it was. But of course she couldn’t.
“Of course I would be the paranoid one.” She said her southern draul thick like it always had been. Continuing on she found a building with the door and windows just empty sockets where eyes could have been watching her from. But she didn’t feel like she was being watched. It was just that scent she seemed to be following. Glancing to the other side of the street she noticed a building with the door hanging on the hinges and broken wooden frames from the windows laying askew on the road in front of it. “Yes jump out of your skin and give yourself a heart attack.” She said and the sound of rubble falling reached her ears making her spin her hands coming from her pockets and going to the whip that was wrapped around her waist like a belt. But there was nothing there. Letting out the breath she had started to hold as she was startled the she wolf cursed under her breath. Perhaps coming out alone hadn’t been all that smart after all.
Turning back the way she had come she made a turn down a different road and found that the scent got stronger again. “So who ever or whatever went this way.” She said and shrugged. Jessi wasn’t really curious but she also wasn’t ready to go back home yet. So putting her hands back in her pockets she continued on her way and noticed a tall building that at one point must have been apartments. Something in her mind triggered that she should know the building but brushed it off as nothing came to mind. So instead she walked on by even though her instincts were telling her she should just turn around and go home.
