A gentle breeze blew along the dirted area of that the beast chose to sit. It had been a long while since she decided sitting out on the beach was a good thought. The cold had all but vanished as the later months of the year took into affect the season change from winter to spring and eventually summer though that change was not always noticed. The earthquake that had shaken the city made it lay in rubles more so then before and it made the snake’s heart ache for those that did not survive the change. After it she noticed more of the world that seemed off had joined with what she had associated as the Angel Desert. Sighing purple eyes mixed with shades of blue looked out from behind the sunglasses that wrapped around her eyes blocking out the sun as it sat at high noon. Being a desert creature herself she had long since thought to travel to the warmth of the land that she craved but she couldn’t find the want to place herself in that much danger or to leave the base that she had come to call home. Red hair moved in the sunlight and a small hiss escaped her. It was too hot for the hair that reached well down her back and almost to her hips. During the winter it hadn’t occurred to her to cut it and so she had done it just a couple of days ago, sadly it was a bit shorter then she wanted but it was something she could deal with.
Waves crashed to the ground as the tide debated if it wanted to run away for the day to come back tonight with the moon. Angelis didn’t care which it decided to do, she wasn’t planning to go out into the water at any point. The black jeans that hugged about her hips contrasted against the light shade of cream her skin was as her arms wrapped around to hold her knees close to her chest where he chin rested on them. A black sleeveless top showed the muscles that had formed in her arms and the different color of the veins that ran down the length of her arms. Ending just above the elbow from her shoulder scales had begun to form. A creamy iridescent shade that looked rainbow much like her hair if the sun hit just right. Turning to her beast that last time had forced upon her human body more of the change of the beast that is her. But the waves brought a sense of calm to the beast. She could see that it too shone with rainbows much as her skin did and also the sound of the music it made, well a sound that could be taken as music depending on the person who was choosing to listen.
The snake heard the steps behind her before she thought to taste the air to see who it was. Of course she had no doubt it was her trusted friend come to see where she had snuck off to. “I wondered where you had gone to.” His voice floated to her, clean and clear on the sea drenched air. “You didn’t take long to find me.” Was the snake’s response to the caiman that had decided to follow her. “I just had to think like you.” Glancing back Ange knew there was a smile on his face just by the tone that had been in his words. “What do you need?” she asked her own voice soft, keeping the trace of her hiss from appearing when it wasn’t needed. It had become harder to control that and so she was having to work on it once more just like when the forked tongue had first become known to the human body that wasn’t accoustumed to it. “Checking on you.” He said and his eyes showed concern. “I am fine.” Was all Angelis said before turning back to the ocean. “I call your lie.” Kevin said and moved over to sit with her. She knew he would but it wasn’t like she wanted to talk about it even with him.
For minutes only they sat there before she felt his hand pat her shoulder. “You need not carry everything alone.” He said. “You aren’t designated leader yet.” Though everyone knew she was treated as such by what few beasts were left in the city. Most had chosen to move along, hoping they could escape the angels and the war that was sure to come with them. The man stood and shook himself out. “I’ll see you back at the base.” He said and then vanished along the street back the way he had come. The xeno sighed and curled back up on her little perch she had made. Really she just needed time to think. High noon meant no vampires to worry about which were always the worse to deal with in her own opinion, of course she had yet to run into any angels herself. But this was the spot to think, the waves as her music and the air as her fan in the heat of the day.
