The female wolf kept her eyes focused on the details of the forest. Her home had changed since she had left. New features had popped up over the landscape and though Mikaela knew better than to investigate it by herself, she did anyway. The sun was high in the sky for once, leaving it to be mildly warm outside. The forest from the outside looked harmless to for the most part, but she knew of the things that lurked inside. Most of them not even being creatures, but the vicious plants that made up the forest. Mikaela’s nose twitched a little catching odd scents, even in her human form. She curled her bottom lip between her teeth and chew a little, wondering if it really was a good idea to go inside without anyone beside her. She decided if it was too bad, she could always exit.
The brunette took a few steps to the edge, lingering. Her long hair hung over her shoulders as she bent at the waist, eyeing the forest again. She finally just shook her head, mentally chastised herself for being so skittish, and walked in. A few steps in, she paused. This wasn’t so bad, she told herself only to look at her feet. Something was slithering over her the toe end of her boot. Her brow furrowed at seeing this and she bent down cautious, always curious. It wasn’t leathery, at all, like she expected a snake to be. Her fingers gently touched what she thought would be flesh, only for it to be the texture of a plant. What she assumed to be a vine, instantly stopped moving upon her foot, frozen. Mikaela picked her head up, hearing something bigger move and she scrambled back a few steps.
Mikaela stood still for a second, but nothing happened. Perhaps it was harmless? She couldn’t see that actually being true, considering anytime Mikaela ran into something outside the mall it usually wanted to eat or kill her. She exhaled sharply after a few second, as if she was holding her breath. Nothing was running to get her and her feet hadn’t been pulled out from underneath her. She decided to give it another shot, wandering a little deeper, but keeping her eyes on the sunlight beyond the border. The forest was still thin, allowing sunlight down to the ground where she stood. Mikaela knew better than to travel where the sunlight no longer filtered through the tree tops. [/color]
