Here is the bestiary for your viewing pleasure, compiled works of all the creatures you can find on WVRP. Each are NPC characters, meaning nonplayable by members as characters, though can be played for threads as needed. You can’t make one a permanent character, but you can use the creatures for plots and whatnot.
If you are seeking out a specific creature, press Control and F at the same time and type in the name you are looking for. We have provided you with the locations they can be found at in the site as well.
Giant Insects
www.iwozhere.com/SRD/images/MM35_PG15.jpg
What: Just that, giant insects. Each area brings different ones, like the desert has scorpions, scarabs, etc. Not all insects are giant, but those that are, are few and far in between. They are hard to kill and really do not submit. Though they are great in protein we hear. Most are roughly horse size, though there are the rare ones that are the size of a house.
History: Derived from regular insects, these have evolved by whatever means creatures are created in this world. They are easily one of the scariest creatures to come across and have taken many a life.
Where: Anywhere at random. Rare.
Zombies
What: Once living being that are now the animated dead. Some are still in good condition while others are rotting flesh holding pieces of bone together. Once fully decayed, these creatures can no longer move and are inanimate. They strive to eat flesh they can never obtain again. These hungry creatures are rather easy to kill by severing the head from the spine or simply taking out the legs and arms. They travel in larger groups making them more dangerous, though their infection cannot be spread to the living. It seems only the dead can rise.
History: Perhaps a necromancer summoned them? Who knows, if you’re so curious ask one yourself.
Where: Wet Lands mostly. Here and there everywhere else.
Harpies
What: Unlike the ones of human lore, these creatures are very similar to human only with natural talons for hands and feet. They spend much of their time hunting living amongst the Roc and hunting them. They take their feathers and beaks and don them as clothing, pretending to be a Roc. They can’t fly, but they somehow still manage to blend in undetected. Angels are a favorite and these creatures thoroughly enjoy hunting an Angel for its feathers. Their long hair is pulled back into a tight braid, usually brown in color.
History: No one knows for certain, but these creatures have always lived coincide with the Rocs, without the Rocs detection oddly enough. It is also uncertain just why they strive to be a Roc themselves, but it’s an unfortunate thing that will probably never be figured out.
Where: Rolling Hills, Razor Flats, Okalo Valley
Rats
With the cataclysmic event, rats evolved. They evolved into man eating creatures. It is hypothesized that the Outsiders got a hold of them and turned them, for most of these creatures seem to like just sucking blood, it is not proven. Alone, they are nothing, but as a group, head for high ground
Where: Everywhere, mostly the City
Man-Bear-Pig
www.iwozhere.com/SRD/images/MM35_PG127.jpg
What: Because there is no better name, we are calling it man-bear-pig. This apelike creature sports an extra pair of arms, creating its monster appearance. That and there’s the razor sharp teeth and claws. They are quite strong and live in groups, though small. Much of their time is spent in trees. Simply put, they are animals.
Where: Ash’dra Forest
Mindeaters
What: Perhaps where the lore of Mindflayers came from, these creatures are nasty. These creatures are ‘born through conflict and exist through chaos’ (as stated by the suggesting player). Once they are in existence, they become single minded things. They somehow manage to be invisible, more than likely a chemical in their skin that uses light to create the illusion. They pick hosts who are weak minded, being doubts of anything or any other weakness of mind. Once found, they latch on and continue to ‘whisper’ more doubts and weaknesses. The host pretty much goes insane and turns to destroying those around them and themselves. These creatures are strongest when the host is in slumber, influencing dream sequences.
History: When war really began to break out among the New Realm, it brought with it many emotions, only strengthened by the raw powers of the world. The creatures were brought about by the height of the emotions, a purely mental creation. The power of the mind.
Where: Everywhere.
Ash’dra Plants
What: These plants are one of the most dangerous creatures of the New Realm. Many eat other plants and passing by living creatures. Some however, do not eat as so, but rather have other features; poisonous darts, healing abilities, hypnotizing, etc. It is hard to say which is which unless you experience it firsthand.
History: These plants are the oldest amongst the creations of the New Realm, older than any other creature or race.
Where: Ash’dra Forest

www.rpgminiatures.com/acatalog/MountainTroll.jpg
What: Large primal creatures with the insane drive to destroy things. They have managed a tribal style community, though very basic. Their main goals are eat, sleep, crap, mate. Though they do have a curiosity level that sends them venturing. They aren’t always aggressive either, it depends on how curious they are of something. They are omnivors.
History: Some jest they come from the human line of evolution, though it is not known for certain. In human myth, these creatures wandered vast lands and stole people away to eat them.
Where: Ash’dra Forest, Wet Lands, Fields, and the start of the City Borders
Roc
www.iwozhere.com/SRD/images/MM35_PG215a.jpg
fc05.deviantart.net/fs31/f/2008/232/e/5/Roc_by_GENZOMAN.jpg
What: Large birds of prey. Rocs are generally not dangerous to humanoids, preferring the more wild of creatures to feed on. Some however do prefer the flesh of any meat. In flocks, Rocs are damn near impossible to destroy.
History: For years Angel and Rocs of contested air space. Unfortunately, Rocs are quite a bit larger and have managed against the Angels quite well. They are far more territorial and fight to the death. Angels have not given up, though agreed it best to give Rocs space when they can.
Where: Rolling Hills and Razor Flats
Ben
What: A giant Cyclops. Ben’s name was given randomly seeing as how no one knows his true name or if he even has one. Ben isn’t very observant and is quite apparently small brained. Though when you get his attention, he is easy to anger and is very primal in his ways. When walking, he does not watch his step, so be careful getting too close.
History: Ben just exists. He is far too large to be removed with force so everyone has simply…grown accustomed to him.
Where: The Rolling Hills are his domain. It is thought he has a cave nearby in the forming mountains.
Outsiders
Creation: As the treaty crumbled and fighting began to break out across the world, people began to change. Not only did they become more aggressive toward their opposing races, but some even changed completely mentally and physically all in one. Tension was high and many were distracted, it was hard to notice their friends growing abnormal marks or parts. They didn’t notice a disease spreading right under their noses. That was, until it bit them in the ass. Then they noticed.
What: Outsiders are a creation that no one knows how they happened. They just seemed to form. Overall, they are creatures of an ever growing internal disease. They can be Werewolf, Vampire, or even Werebeast. They are each race, stuck in an eternal bloodlust and sickness. Their bodies alter to fit monsters only told in fairytales. They are a true horror. Their strength does not sap with this sickness however, it only seems to grow. Lucky for everyone else though, their brains seem to shrink. Stuck in one thought process, that is to survive and by feeding. Some look the part, very well, others can fit in still, appearing normal until you get too close. A recent development is that some are starting to form ‘packs’. Though small, the idea is scary.
Where: Overall, their favorite places to call territory is the outskirts of towns and cities, where they can keep watch and control. Dark, dank places are another. They can be anywhere, not just this city alone.
If you are seeking out a specific creature, press Control and F at the same time and type in the name you are looking for. We have provided you with the locations they can be found at in the site as well.
