Musical instruments is another one of her favorite things. She likes meeting new people no matter how timid she is at first. Cori doesn’t really have a temper but more of a do what she has to type of attitude. If she has no choice but to defend herself than she will.

History Summary:
Cori was born to a pair of wolves though they did not live in the major area. They were in a smaller city to the north. They hadn’t wanted to be with child due to the chaos that the world was in. They had thought to make it to a bigger city and to the one Named Strike before she was born but they couldn’t make it. Strange things started to happen, things that Cori doesn’t really remember much of. But people began to notice changes. Alliances of immortals were formed, her parents finally forced to join a small sanctum pack just so they would have protection for their daughter. But really they had no idea how to take care of her. Food was sparse and water even worse. There was no electricity and new things were coming to the world. Wendigos, creatures that feasted on immortals, and forced the pack to join with vampires to defeat them.
Cori grew up within the small little pack. There was one man there, trained in the military that was teaching all the adults how to fight and handle weapons. No one except for Ezekiel had a gun so he didn’t teach that but he did teach how to make bows, arrows, and knives from what was around them. Black shiny stones could be sharpened into blades really easily. When Cori was six he caught her watching and waved her into one of his bow making classes. He let her sit in and helped her find wood to make a bow of her own with. Cori’s parent’s weren’t sure of that, they were peaceful folks even if the times weren’t really able to handle peaceful folks. Cori hadn’t really wanted to learn but the man doing the teaching was the designated leader of the pack and so they had to obey.
By the time she was ten Cori had learned talking little was better than talking a lot and weapons were her only chance of survival. She hated having to learn and would plead with her parents to not make her continue. They could see the wounds she came back with every day that Ezekiel took the younger ones outside of the town to fight off stray Wendigos. She had never gotten personally touched by a Wendigo but flying weapons didn’t always hit the target they were aimed at. One night Cori snuck out so that she couldn’t be taken out to do the hunting again. Ezekiel came by the house and saw her gone, he was very displeased and when she got back in the morning he questioned her where she had gone. “I went to hide!” she yelled at him. When he asked from what she yelled again. “From you!”
This of course displeased him even further and Ezekiel took her away to be punished. When she went back to her parents three days later she was even more cut up than before and suddenly didn’t want to talk much to anyone. She used to be so lively but now she didn’t want to. She went to the hunts like a good girl but oddly enough quit coming back with marks. This worried her parents but made Ezekiel proud, which just worried them more. When Cori was twelve there was a call to war, Ezekiel and many of the older men, including her father Riley, went off to fight, traveling to the big city to do it. There wasn’t much fighting in their little town as there weren’t many there anymore. Most had moved on and so there was no worry leaving the women and children.
They weren’t sure how long the war had actually been going on but the men were only gone about ten months before coming back reporting of a treaty being signed. Humans knew of their existence which frightened many of the elder wolves but they had to deal. Of course the human’s reaction was to make new creatures. Cori told her mom that she wanted to go to the city to live on her own. Her mother was surprised but again Ezekiel was proud. “Go then.” He said and turned his back on her as if mad but Cori had seen the grin that had filled his eyes with darkness. She didn’t want to be around this man anymore if she didn’t have to be that was for sure. Her parents tried to stop her, explaining the trek to the city was long and hard, but Cori wouldn’t listen.
She left with a quiver full of arrows, a bag full of clothes, another with food and water, and her bow which she kept in her hands at all times. At night she would try to find a place to hide so she wouldn’t be seen. Depending on the scenery it went from up a tree, in bushes, to in caves. Sometimes just hiding behind a tall rock formation. The trek was indeed long and it took her well into the next year and passed her birthday to get there. It made her wonder just how much fighting the men had done. Granted they could have changed into their wolf forms and run faster. She hadn’t had her first shift yet. Though wasn’t totally concerned about it. She made it to the city and found out that there were two packs, one in the city and one on the outskirts. She wasn’t sure which to join so went into the city.
She found a wolf named Jessi who led her to the mall where she met others of the pack. She was only thirteen and when the next full moon came around she felt the pain begin in her abdomen area. She knew this would be her first shift and that she was hitting puberty finally. It was so painful that she blacked out through the change and actually couldn’t remember that night either, that happened for the first six months of her shift before finally she began to remember flashes. Finally after a year she was able to not loose memories from wolf form at all. Shortly after that year of learning and mastering her other form though there was another threat to the world. Where they Wendigos had been reduced to hunted things there was a new enemy. The Angels.
They came and the first thing they started to do was start to enslave the vampires. Cori didn’t have much of an issue with this but it showed they wouldn’t stop there. She was only fourteen but she knew how to fight. She volunteers to go fight but is forced to stay out of it, she is told too young. Granted Cori had come to hate violence, having faced a bit of it on her walk to the city, but she hated losing people more. Often if an Angel would wander into the city during the fights she would go after them, getting herself hurt a few times as they were stronger than her. The battle was hard with many of the races loosing people. The humans and wolves joined together. Alliances formed with Werebeasts, Humans, and Werewolves. Most vampires were enslaved but those that weren’t fought against the Angels as well.
Finally a bomb was made and released that went to the Angel’s base. The explosion was massive with many people losing their lives but it put a swift end to the fighting. As the years went by rifts still remained for the Angels to travel in and the world to change, but things actually got a small sense of peace. A sense of life returning begins. The city begins to rebuild what it can and people are more frequent. Cori gets her parents to come to the city but just as they arrive Strike vanishes. In the worry of it though Crystal takes over. A form of currency is made to help keep order and jobs are available. By the time things are resembling normal it has been ten years and Angels are being let into the city though kept under watch. Patrols walk the streets at all times and Cori even does patrols with her bow and arrows. She may not look like much of a threat but she knows how to handle herself.
Post Example:
Salt perfumed the air as she sat on the edge of the cliff. The old lighthouse stood tall behind her and Cori just sat there breathing deep of the fresh ocean area. She had just gotten done patrolling the streets with a few of the other wolves and was now taking a break. She couldn’t stand to do that all the time. The female needed time with nature. She had found that the forest was a fun place to go though dangerous, often she only went there if she had been pissed off and needed to abuse something to calm down. It never failed that something tried for her when she went in there. Taking another deep breath she exhaled and shut her eyes. Laying her back against the grass she opened the blue green orbs to find a clear blue sky. There were a few clouds but they were just wisps and nothing to worry about bringing any kind of storm. Her purple tank top bunched around her stomach as she placed her hands under her shoulders and used her feet to lift her up into a bridge. Looking behind her she saw no one but kicked off the ground forcing her feet over her head. Cori was quick and flexible, all the years at the young age of learning to fight actually helping her out now. She landed on her booted feet and the green cargo pants fell into place with a little jingle from the chain that she used as a belt. There as a clip on one end that she used to clip to a link on the other to make sure the pants stayed on her hips. Reaching down she picked up the quiver and clipped it to the belt than the bow which she put over her shoulder so the black cedar wood sat against her back. The bow was nearly as long as she was but she didn’t mind, it was the only way to get the right pull back to aim for her target. Turning Cori went back towards the city following the beach line to do so. The ocean was her second favorite spot. A sound off to her left where the water was made her turn. A fish jumped out of the water and then vanished within the blue depths again. Being a little surprised Cori left it alone, unsure if she had just imagined seeing her first fish in the water. Shaking her head she continued her walk back to the city determined to go back to the mall and take a nap. It had been a long night on patrol but she hated day patrols, day was the better time to sleep and then to go out and maybe help with things others needed help with. Cori never said much and when she did it was never loud but she got stuff done, and she was enjoying the peace, even with the few dangerous stragglers into the city now and then. |
