Player Title: Shorty
Full Birth Name: Blaze Minika Dontrino
Alias/ nickname: Blaze, Blazer
Race: Superhuman
Gender: Female
Age: 33
Physical Appearance:
Blaze is 5’2 and weighs only 122 pounds. Her figure is rather muscular with basically no body fat on her. She has a kind of small figure with just a bit of curve. Her hair is a mix of dark brown, dark auburn, and black and all of it is natural. Her hair has a natural curl to it but will straighten out depending on what the weather is. If it is dry it will straighten, if wet stays curly. Her eyes are a deep chocolate brown that at times look black especially in deeper lighting. Her skin is naturally tanned from her Latino heritage.
Blaze’s choice of clothing goes from form fitting to combat ready. Pants that hug the hips always and tops that range from comfortable to can’t get in the way. On her back is a black phoenix tribal tattoo (tattoo) with blue flames that takes up the entire center of her back. Her ears are pierced 6 times each and so is her tongue and bellybutton. Her choice of shoes are always boots.
Personality Traits:
Blaze isn’t really a flirt anymore. Ten years since she moved to New York changed her a bit. She is still as bitchy and fiery as ever but she has better control of it now. Looking for a guy to sleep with doesn’t really entertain her thoughts as much as getting life back to how it should be. But Blaze also knows that things will never be the same. She has accepted this as well as what she has become. She isn’t a child anymore and doesn’t try to think that she can beat anything that comes at her. Nearly dying humbled her in that aspect.
But that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t still like to kick ass. She just doesn’t go out trying to pick fights like she used to. Now since they are all trying to live in the same world she tries to get along with folks though is still very untrusting of Angels and doesn’t think they will ever actually reform and therefore doesn’t like them being in the city. That was why she took a job as Caravan Guard, so that she wouldn’t have to be on patrol to have something to do.
She still enjoys being around groups of people and likes to conversate but has taken more alone time since becoming a super and after all her training was done. Being cooped up in Haven for months made her not as social as she used to be and more of a loner so that she could manage to get out of the damned place. Sure she still enjoys making friends and all that jazz but it’s not her main thing and would rather be out hunting things or protecting people than sitting on her ass.
Weaponry:
Glock G22 40 (when she has ammo), 4 silver/steel throwing knives, 1 silver/steel short sword
Extras:
Caravan Guard is choice of job, though she also likes to go exploring outside the city
History Summary:
Blaze was born in Puerto Rico to Anita and Roberto Dontrino. Her father was from Mexico and her mother was from Texas, both had moved to Puerto Rico for new lives and schooling when they met, fell in love, and got married. Blaze was born during a warring age. Species fought against species and really there was no where safe to live. Unsure of what to do her parents raised her in Puerto Rico where there seemed to be less fighting or at least things that were more controlled. But still it wasn’t safe. Many nights her father would be out helping to keep their city safe and come back bloodied and limping. Blaze remembered those nights the most because her mother would start yelling in Spanish and nothing could get her calmed down until she broke down in tears wondering when it would end.
As she grew Blaze’s father made sure she knew how to handle weapons. From the beginning he taught her how to throw knives or use them as a form of defense against other knives or claws. Blaze wasn’t sure why he did that but didn’t object. The fiery little girl learned with ease and joy. Soon after knives there were swords and staves and then finally, when she got big enough, guns. She learned how to fire so many different kind thought Blaze favored the hand guns, they were just easier for her small hands to hold. For her tenth birthday her father got her a Glock G22-40 which her mother of course hated. She didn’t like that her little girl was becoming so into combat and so like her father. It frightened Anita that she would then have to worry that two, not just one, wouldn’t come back one night.
When Blaze was about twelve they moved back to the states to go live in Texas near Anita’s family. Speaking mostly Spanish, Blaze found her new life in the United States difficult. She had to learn English in school and hated it because she still had her Spanish accent when she spoke which made some of her words sound funny and it made people make fun of her. Of course the ones that did usually ended up in a fist fight with her and she would kick their ass thanks to the fighting lessons she received from her father. Every now and then though she would get in fights with the young werewolves and vampires and she would get served a lesson. Even her father’s fighting couldn’t help her against the stronger and faster immortals.
While in school Blaze always picked fights. When her parents found out they said they knew she would have a fiery personality, which was they named her Blaze. But that didn’t stop them from having to pull her from school and put her into military school. She hated it at first. All the rules she had to follow but loved the training she got. They taught her more skills like tracking, agility, survival, all things she needed as the wars went on. There was a tentative treaty inniciated she could tell since the fighting lessened but that didn’t stop different species from fighting, oh hell no. Blaze even helped in some of the fights that went on at school, which when her parents found out about those ones they gave up. If the military couldn’t stop her from fighting nothing could.
Blaze graduated military school and had the option to go into the force but decided to go home to stay with her mother and father for a bit. But by the time she was twenty-one they found out that her father had cancer and only survived a few months into it as they had found it too late. Her mother was devastated and so Blaze stayed with her until she knew her mother could handle living on her own again. Though her grandparents were close by Blaze didn’t trust leaving her mom alone for a few years. Finally when she was twenty-three she brought up moving away to her mother he was alright with the idea. She told Blaze she would be okay now.
So Blaze traveled the United States and finally settled in New York. It had always been her dream to move to the city and with her living in the United States she figured now would be a good time to do it. She found a place and let her mother know where she was living and would send frequent letters to see that she was alright. It was strange being in the city with all the species now open about what they were since the President’s broadcast but Blaze didn’t mind. Hell she didn’t even seem to mind that in the city that meant there was more of them. She wasn’t scared, something her father and the military academy had trained into her.
Often Blaze traveled to the outskirts of her new home where she found there were things that weren’t meant to be messed with. Outsiders hunted her down and often she had to hide due to running out of bullets and being unable to kill them. That was when she started carrying around the knives and short sword more often. They seemed to work better if the damned things got in too close. She hadn’t joined the military so she wouldn’t have to fight to survive but it seemed nothing was going to let that pass. Especially as the Angels appeared. She thought they would be like the angels she learned about in church growing up but they were nothing like them. Their wings were never white and they carried weapons. Not to mention they enslaved the vampires! That in itself meant they weren’t good, well kind of.
Blaze tried staying away from them, living in Haven and learning new styles of fighting such as Judo, Kendo, and Tae Kwon Do. She had run into an angel once, his name was Omarion, it had appeared like he had just gotten into the city but that didn’t mean much. All of them seemed a little weird. After the meeting with Omarion she certainly tried to stay away from them. For the first time in a while, Blaze had felt fear. One day when wandering the city she ran into a werewolf named Anthony. The two hit it off pretty well if you could call silver bullets and flying car parts well. Though once the fighting was done they did seem to click. The two saw each other often though one day he vanished and Blaze got rather annoyed. She wasn’t a fan of people just vanishing, she wasn’t even sure if the guy was still alive!
But even when trying to avoid them Blaze found that she couldn’t. One day, while enjoying a rain storm that was so rare to have, she ran into a hoard of angels and ended up fighting one of them thanks to her smart mouth and their no nonsense personalities. She had come very close to death, only saved by Oriana giving her the serum and turning her into a superhuman, something Blaze never thought she would be. Thanks to that though she didn’t die, just had months of recovery and relearning to do. She was stronger and faster and so had to learn to accomidate, often she broke things without meaning too which was forgiven in those first few months.
When finally she managed to get control she learned that she could take on things more than human now but still had to go through certain training. They taught her more military tactics that would work better for this state the world was in. That was when the tremors started and more of the Angels’ world came to Earth. Blaze didn’t like that and often went to their area to scope it out. She would take notes and even make maps that she would later show the men who helped train her. Finally the plans for the bombing came into play. Blaze wanted to be a part of it but only a select few were chosen. Instead she stayed in the city to help with the aftermath which there most certainly was. The explosion affected the city too not just the base. A lot of people died of all species but the Angel’s took the biggest hit.
Recovering from that was rough. People started to rebuild and the Angels seemed humbled. If not humbled then quiet while they plotted to take over the world again. It took ten years to get everything built up. People began to work, travel between cities began to happen, even money (of a sort) came back into play. Blaze signed up to be a Caravan Guard to help get people from the fields back to the Haven. Wasn’t rough except for when they were attacked by rouges. Often on her off time Blaze travels to the outskirts where she still hunts down things that should no longer be. She didn’t get ammo for her gun often so when she managed to she kept it in her room at Haven unless she thought she would really need it, relying on her training and her blades instead. Life wasn’t quiet but it was probably as peaceful as it could get right then.
