History Summary:
Story of the Bloodlines starts in the Eastern provinces of the Roman Empire. It was the age when plagues and poverty reigned, sickness damaged mortals. Vampire race felt its effects during peek of an epidemics that decimated population leaving much their food source tainted. Facing a potential disaster for his kind Sire of All came to an idea, a thought that could potentially aid his kind in centuries to come and make them less dependent on the majority or human population. The idea was simple .. instead of taking out of the existing populace they will send out their troops of darkness and collect the strongest among human and in time out of them breed their own food. With this the Sire, according to myth we are told, entrusted Lucius Ignatius and thus the project was born.
Through ages the finest, strongest bloodlines where hand picked from generations of all ethnicities and nations of the world. Once the base of the future lines were gathered the project truly began. Finest were bred with finest of the lines, and our masters kept diligent and detailed records assessing the quality of blood, beauty, strength, immunity, intelligence, agility and other factors. After few hundred years and dozens of generations Lucius followers weren’t simply satisfied with blood being tasteful. His creations had to go beyond that and become alluring, to satisfy even the most aggressive appetites of his kind through small quantities of the precious life liquid.
And so he came up with a plan… to go beyond the Sires original purpose and attempt creating superior human beings, obedient to the vampire race. So he began a project of his own to create the Goldenblood. Name is self explanatory. Our ancestors passed through an even more regourus selection, refreshing genetics with attributes that were missing. All those that didn’t meet the standards were disposed off. With generations upon generations Bloodlines have gotten better. Bronze and Silver reached expectations but it was the GoldenBlood that went beyond it with unusual side effects.
We have reached perfection and reached strength, speed, agility of an average vampire, advance healing and superior immunity that could defeat any illness. There is no vampire that is not affected by allure of our blood, scent of it intoxicating to immortals. Our intelligence is superior to humans, side effect of selection increased it and even enabled us using an ability unknown to mankind or vampires. Empathy. We were able to sense each other and feel emotions, illness or health and even near location. It was an intimate link that gave us comfort and understanding. Goldenblood mothers could feel the well being of their children long after they were taken and lost lovers sense the feelings they were deprived of by seperation.
We lived in the Institutes in comfort, oblvious to what was happening in the outside world. We learned, were educated in various ways from history and geography to knowledge of finess like phylosophy and art. But we had no desire to leave and experience the world…well, most of us. As a Prime I always wondered of the world. Not how it was or the information we were given to absorb but what is, the secretive present. However I never pressed for it…I had my people to care for as an honored figure. We were naïve and oblivius to the fact that while we smiled and studied, trained and talked the world was falling apart.
It first came in subtle hinsts. There were more incidents with guards. Old high ranking members of the Order slipped away, one by one. Some GBs vanished with masters they bonded with. It came slowly during the period of 15 years. To us time was a dot. A constant series of habits. It is that reason why we noticed even slightest changes. Power generators started to fail more frequently. There were less vampires in the Institute and those tha remained behaved iraticaly at times.
Then it happened…
Over night our link vanished. We paniced. It was as if someone gauged out our eyes or cut off our ears. The intimate bond, our most precious secret was gone and we were deaf to one another. Panic grew and the feeling of entrapment became unbearale. Many ceased the chance when an earthquake hit the Andes and we fled.
I am Celest Aeterna the Prime of Goldenbloods, and this is the beginning of my story.
Post Example:
( Horse stood in place, his ears up and turning to scan the surroundings. Nostrils were open wide taking in scents breeze carried to them. Everything on the animal spoke it was alert. Skin at his neck shivered slightly, rest of the body being at a point of readiness. He was prepared to bolt at first sign of danger. It is after all in nature of pray to try escaping first. Oriana could feel the tension in his muscles beneath her. The advantage of English saddle was ability to sense your horse. She learned through time it was best to take advantage of it and of instincts these animals possessed. More than once it were dogs or horses of Haven that saved lives on patrols, alerting humans in time. They did not have the strength of vampires or instincts of werewolves, able only to borrow them from other beings. Oriana could sense it now as hooves lightly stepped down the street. She knew they were here…somewhere. Nature has used the decade well. Changes and unison of dimensions only helped it to spring it into growth. Alien plants and animals mixed with native breeds which resulted in dramatic shifts. In some cases certain species were pushed, others mutated or went extinct. The street was dense with moss, grass and various shrubs. They reached up from cracks in concrete, defying man’s roads of past. The patches of green now grew close together, leaving only few gray and solid spots. Nature took the city over and now it felt like humans were guests in it. Stallion then stopped with a nervous twitch in his muscle, digging the moss under his left foot. “I know...” she said caressing the thick neck of the mount. “They’re here…” But where? In her mind she analyzed possibilities. In truth it was a guessing game without dogs. Tracks were lost some time ago so there was no telling where exactly they wee hiding. It could be an alley or building, behind dumpster or old car wreck…could be even a near by window. Outsiders were like animals and though not that intelligent they could hunt and some could cooperate in hunts. Then a flash caught her attention. She looked at the corner…there were definite flashes and deliberate. Three… She took her sword out and dug heels into the horse. Instantly he started to run as she moved her blade, giving a signal back in same way. Riding to the corner she prepared the sword and … Slash. Head of first Outsider fell in her first pass. |
