History Summary:
Selene was the first born of the Alpha pack leader of the Sahara Desert. Saer Romero had wanted a boy, but was fine with the female born child for woman were rare for their pack. He stared down at the small bundle with brown fuzzy hair and closed eyes, vowing that he would train her to be the best of the warriors of their pack. Saer had many members of his pack trained to kill vampires or any creature that threatens the pack on site. They were trained to be cold, serious, and killers. His objective was to have Selene be the fearless and deadliest of the pack. Esperanza, her mother, was worried about her child for she knew that Saer can take things out of control. The she-wolf knew his training and thought of them harsh and unbearable even though they do create the best warriors and protectors in their pack.
Selene was thrown into training early than any other wolf pup of the pack that was chosen to be warriors. The young child will scowl at her father when he made her repeat lessons over and over again when other pups are age ran and played in their childhood youth. Not understanding, she continued her training suffering from the yells, the shouts, and the growls of her father. Instead of show of affection from her father, she received commands and shouts from a pack leader and trainer. At night her mother will come to comfort the crying to tired girl, showing the small lycan affection like she deserved.
One day Selene didn't show up to her training wanting to be with the other children. For hours she had a great time, yet dread kicked in once it was time for her to go come home. Once she reached the opening of the tent, she shrunk back when her father's looming for appeared. Fear strikes her core at the sight of his nose flaring in anger. Before she had a chance to react, her mother appeared in front of her in such speed that the young girl blinked in shock. Cowering behind her mother, she watched from behind as her father growled his disappointment and the need to discipline her. Shivering in fright, she stayed behind her mother until her father stormed by them in a fight of anger. Selene felt guilty and sad that she let her father down, but she was grateful for her mother protecting her. Even as a child, she vowed that she would take care of her mother and protect her.
Few years later, Under the heat of the desert sun, Selene watched her mother sing a lullaby that was sang to her when she was a young pup. The sight of her mother and her rounded belly caused Selene to be envious of the child that will be born. Esperanza mentioned to her daughter that the babe she carries was a boy and that her father will happy to have one. The female pup knew that her father always wanted a boy and so he will have one. What does that mean for her? Leaving the tent, she stretched her tall form and watched her fellow young pack members spar one another. Gritting her teeth, she spun on her heels to walk another way when a figure appeared in front of her. Kalvin, her cousin, sneered at her as he advanced forward. As always the young female was judge by her cousin, he called her weak and unworthy on being the alpha's daughter and protégé. As always, she clenched her hands and walked away knowing that he was right on the fact that she was not as good as the other kids.
That night, she walked around the lycan territory where movements in the shadows caught her attention. Cocking her head to the side, she sniffed the night air and caught the scent of the dead. Alarm went up, she let out a howl as she dug her feet into the ground and headed to her mother. The need to get to her yanked her adredline in the air, for her mother she will fight death. Finally reaching the tent, she shoved the opening to the side and called out for her mother. No answer. Dread washed over her, she moved in slowly listening to the sounds of howls and swords in the darkness as they fought their number one enemies. Vampires. Saer was most likely fending them off, protecting the pack as she knows it. Moving deeper into the place, she went to one of the rooms and peeled the opening cloth aside and paled.
The vampires held her by her throat, toying with the pregnant lycan like it was an amused toy. Anger crossed her young features as a growl trickled from her mouth. The vampire turned to her, Selene lunged to the side and grabbed a sword that her father kept in the room. Thrusting the blade into the belly of the corpse and slowly dragging the sharp weapon up. Strong hands came down upon her shoulders and she was dragged back. Growling and fighting, she tried to fight the damnable creatures off of her but only to find out that she was not strong enough to shake them off. The vampire moved his hand to the hilt of her sword that was still within her and yanked it out. The sickening sound of the blade sliding through the flesh caused her to cringe, but she quickly recovered her composure. The sound of the fight caused her ears to perk and the hope her father returning swelled with in her. The hope and pray was too late when she saw the sword went through her mother's chest. Right there and then, fear was booted to the curve and anger kicked in. Tearing away from the vampires, she lunged forward and attacked the vampire that killed her mother. Darkness clouded her mind and the taste of revenge was on her tongue as Selene attacked the Vampire. Metallic taste of blood invaded her sense as she moved in such speed.
Sear grabbed his daughter, scarring her she attacked him only to be thrown on to her back and finally came to her sense. Drench in the vampire's blood, she blinked and looked up into her father's disappointed gaze. He told her that he cannot accept a daughter that does not know how to protect. Angry, guilt filled and grief ridden, she ran from the scene masked in the scent of blood and death. A smell that would follow her forever.
Years of training, fighting, sparring, and building a wall around her she thought herself worthy of her father's attention. When he announced that he was looking for a new Beta for the former one died during battle, she stepped forward for the challenge. the opponent she was against was her cousin, Kalvin. The look on his face told her that he didn't want to waste his time with her, but she rolled her shoulders and glared at the being before. Lifting her hands, she was equipped with the deadly claws caused the Katar. Lifting her hands into an offense position and got ready for a spar. The golden brown irises darken as she waited in silence for the first attack. He moved and the spar began, in his hands were two sharp sabers he thrusts forward. Selene jumped back and slashed at him, four bloody lines appeared on his chest. Cold smile formed on her lips as hers eyes moved to his brown ones. The female lycan shrugged a shoulder and waited for the male to attack again. When he didn't move, she took that as an invitation of to attack.
Selene dashed forward and came down in a downward slash, Kalvin jumped away from her and the blades embedded into the sandy ground. Lifting her gold eyes, she watched as he began to shift his body to his wolf form. Slipping her hands from the weapon, she tore at her clothes as her own body shifted. A growl of pain and anger trickled from her mouth as the sounds of bones shifting and moving caused her to wrinkle her nose. Teeth lengthen as her skin tore for new flesh of black fur. Placing a paw on the sand, she breathed heavily at the change and snorted at the male wolf. Digging her paws into the side, she took off. The muscles in her body rippled as she ran towards the male. Ears flat against her head, she opened her large muzzle and snapped at the wolf. He moved and scrapped his teeth against her back, she jumped away and curled her lips in a growl. Selene's ear laid back in an aggressive manner, with a growl she snapped at his feet. Finally catching the legs of her opponent, she clamped down and yanked, causing him to fall with a pained yelp. Selene went for the neck, only to hear her father shouted that the spar was over.
Backing away from her cousin, she moved away to the group of women that had a robe for her. Shifting back with a silent grunt, she shrugged on the soft robes stiffly and stalked over to her father. Saer nodded to her as he handed the Katars to her that a fellow wolf retrieved. He told her that he accepted her as Beta, but that she was still NOT his daughter. The words stung, but she accepted the duty of being Beta and helped protected the pack as long as she can. With the vampire and lycan war raging on, she stayed behind when most of the male pack members left to fight the vampires away from their territory to keep the pups and women protected. Vampires would sneak in, but meet the cruel fate of the blades of her Katar.
With years underneath the desert suns, brutal training and fierce protection of her pack Selene became bored with the daily routine. At dinner, she sat near her alpha as he spoke to the fellow men about the pack in New York lead by Strike. There were rumors saying that warrior creatures appeared and enslaved vampires. The news amused the young lycan that such thing happened to the vampires. Though she wondered about the Angels, when her name was mentioned she looked up to see Saer looking at her. Arching a brow, she cocked her head to the side and listened to her father. He wanted her to leave the pack and go to NY to study the angels. Selene shook her head, in a cool tone she told her father if she leave this pack she was not going to come back. Before he spoke, she spoke once again saying it was time for her to leave. The pack had many strong members and some that were able to take her position as Beta. With that she left her father and didn't look back.
During her travels, she continued to fight vampires, but under her own leadership. Closer she got to New York, the more she became interested in the pack that was there. Selene heard stories of the Beta Jerome. Small smirk formed on her lips as she walked into the city, the Beta was strong and someone that she would like to challenge. At that moment, Selene had a new goal in her life, the position of Beta of Strike's pack sounded much to her liking.
Update: Still rogued for the time being, Selene went off by herself after the battle of Namaesti, she traveled outside the city encountering dangerous and strange things. Within her travels, she kept up with her training not wanting to be the weak link in the wilds. Years has passed and the desert wolf decided to go back to the city and join up with Strike’s pack and see if she can earn the Beta role. The back of her mind, she thought of her mother and the idea of herself as a mother, but pushed the silly notion from her mind. She was bred to protect and kill, her life as mate to any wolf would be unheard of and ludicrous to eye. Selene was okay with the occasional roll in the grass, the only goal she had at the moment was Beta position and she will fight as much as she can to get that position and let know one stand in her way.
Post Example:
No matter the setting, the moon always looked the same. The she-wolf stood in the middle of the once paved streets of New York City and sighed. So where does she go from here. Since the battle, she left city unsure of what she wanted from her life. Selene wanted to see if the goal of Beta position was still something she craved if she left the area. Silly of her to think that countless danger will distract the desert wolf from what she wanted. Her reason of leaving the position from the desert tribe all those years ago affected her only a little bit, for she knew for a long time she was out of place there. Grunting, she shook her head to cast the past from her mind and finally stretched her slender form beneath the soft light if the moon. “Past is the past, Selene,” she muttered to herself. After all the reason why she left was for a new start. Grinding the heel of her beige boots into the ground, she lifted her face up and sniffed the night sky. The hundreds of different scents perfumed the air and none smelled familiar to her. There had to be someone here that still exists, but she was unsure if they were even alive. Did the war kill many? Or did they travel off like she did? So many question and no clues to find the answer. Grabbing her duffel bag, she swung the bag over her shoulder in a swift motion and moved forward. Softly, the wind played with her hair, brushing the silky strands across her face and shoulders as if a small game it wanted to play. Further into the city, she paused and inhaled deeply. Her nose flaring at the scents, concentrating on separating what she knew and what was unfamiliar. Muscles stiffen a certain one, she sniffed again and nearly howled at the caught scent. “Finally,” she mumbled before taking off to follow before losing. Wolf, she thought, it was defiantly wolf that she was catching and…she narrowed her eyes and snickered, “Male” Her mind made up and her goal set, finally a clue to where the pack reside and all she needed to do was be accepted and once in. Maybe just maybe she could be Beta, for now she studies and learns, then fate will decide the rest. Skidding to halt, Selene tensed her body when the smell became very strong. Dropping her bag, she scanned the area with bright animalistic eyes and was very alert to the sounds around her. Whoever it was, they were near and most likely was studying her. Her hands slide down her sides to where her deadly Katars laid, slipping her fingers through, she clenched her hands and held on to the weapon. “Show yourself or prepare for a fight.” Her voice held a deadly hint. Selene’s ears twitched at the sounds of footsteps and slowly she turned towards it…. |
