For years, the ocean had been one of Liam's absolute favorite places to visit. It brought a sense of calm and sereneness. He remembered as a kid visiting places similar to this one, his family all together and happy in those days. Later years it became memories of him and his recent catch. Whatever female had managed to become trapped in his facade. Whoever fell victim to his charm. Those were the days for sure.
At first he took his time to just look out over the spans of water and wonder if there was anything in there he would regret meeting. What weird creatures lurked beneath the depths waiting for a fool like him to jump in and become the next meal. But then, all at the same time, he didn’t care. There was only one way to find out. Shedding his shirt, shoes and weapon in one giant heap of a pile, Liam jumped into the clear waters. A little too clear, but he would let that one slide for now. Instead he concentrated on the sudden coolness that massage at his sore muscles. He had been spending much of his time at the Pit, fighting for his wages, literally. It was more than he had done in a long time and he was feeling the affects.
Salt was bitter on his tongue as he closed his eyes tightly, being one of the many that couldn’t open their eyes in the stinging waters. It wasn’t long he stayed submerged, just long enough to let the chill freeze the inflammation of his body. Breaking the surface, he stood while burying his toes in the sand for stability, small waves rocking him. Furiously, he brushed at his eyes, not wanting to chance any of the salt in them when they opened. Finally blinking, he sighed and let his body fall light backwards, floating. This was one of the few cities he had been to that was so close to the ocean, it was a treat.
Liam had yet to explore the rest of the city, but this would do for the remainder of the evening. Besides, he had to give everyone a break from the awesomeness that was him. It was hard sharing that loving with everyone he ran into. There was only so much he could give these people, it was about time he relaxed and gave himself some much needed self love.
